I was at CJDesigns (http://www.cjdesignsllc.com/) today talking to Craig, the owner, and he expressed interest in making some super parts. Basically, all we have to do is show him a need, a quantity of people interested in said product, and provide him with a bike to work it out (mine). This could be a skid plate (like the rumbux, but made here), a clutch basket! (he is working on one for the 950 ktm that may be usable with ours with tweaking), luggage racks, fold away shift or brake levers, or anything else we might have in mind. He doesn't want to compete with something that already exists at mass production, but where there is a need he will go. He also puts on classes for Adv riding. Lets discuss some options here!!

Wunderlich produces one already, but it is rather pricey. Does anyone else? He did say that he would be interested in doing the shifter when I was over at his place. So, we might have our first product.

I often think the Tank Ring concept used for mounting the City Bags and Cortech tank bags is an under developed concept.
In other words, use the Gas Cap tank ring solid mount "concept" to create a platform\shelf of some kind that the rider can use as a mounting surface. Similar to a tail rack, but smaller.

I abandoned the Cortech tank bag because it interfered with my handlebars. (Flex bars) But if that real estate could be used with greater flexibility, I could return to using it for small item storage. And it's far more accessible than reaching beyond the bars.

Anyways, just a thought.

The other item I have thought of time to time is the mounting spot below the headlights. Seems like every time a new after market light source comes along, folks struggle with some solution to mounting lights in that area. Perhaps a nice product could be created that fastens easily to that spot and then serves as a versatile platform for mounting all kinds of lights and\or devices to that surface. Paying particular attention to helping avoid the potential conflict with suspension travel.

And then finally, yes, it might be feasible to create Rumbux like lower engine and sump protection using bars as the structure. And addressing lean angle improvements. Possibly even providing intentional support for add-ons like highway pegs, Go-Pro mounts, Tool tubes.......etc.

Just brain storming.

Maybe a nice looking filler plate for the dash just to fill that hole above the handlebars and another to fill in the hole under the headlights. Something that looks good maybe out of aluminum.

I, like others, had to make a mud guard for the right passenger frame side out of a plastic auto floor mat. It looks OK (diamond plate painted black and attached with zip ties) , but something more professional (finished) would be nice.

I Have one, and it's a nice piece of kit. Yes it was expensive.
The tank ring concept is well used primarily by sw motech (powered and non powered),and now givi.
I have a sw motech GS bag, with the mount, and it has worked very well, without affecting the paint.

So, the list looks like the following:

-Block off plate/fairing brace for below headlight

-block off plate for dash area

-clutch basket

-Folding gear shift and/or brake pedal

-possibly all inclusive skid plate/ crashguard

anything else?
