folding shift and brake levers would be great!
I carry a spare OEM shift lever with me, no need for a folder. Take the damaged one home and straighten it out, now ya got another spare.

High fender kit, ala Wasp. Offered with/without fender for those that want to get their own. Brake line kit to go with it. Might as well do some similar fork guards, too! ::008:: ::003:: ::024:: ::017::

And the product cost how much, and where can we look at it?
Look at it HERE Then call Jaxon for the price.

Some good ideas, but in some cases they exist already, so the vibe I'm getting is that people want them, but at a lower price point. O:) Not sure that's going to happen just because someone new is making them.

@Dave B - Rumbux makes soft pannier brackets to keep the bags off the tire and exhaust. $200. If you want more info, PM me.

I often think the Tank Ring concept used for mounting the City Bags and Cortech tank bags is an under developed concept.
In other words, use the Gas Cap tank ring solid mount "concept" to create a platform\shelf of some kind that the rider can use as a mounting surface. Similar to a tail rack, but smaller.

I abandoned the Cortech tank bag because it interfered with my handlebars. (Flex bars) But if that real estate could be used with greater flexibility, I could return to using it for small item storage. And it's far more accessible than reaching beyond the bars.

Anyways, just a thought.

The other item I have thought of time to time is the mounting spot below the headlights. Seems like every time a new after market light source comes along, folks struggle with some solution to mounting lights in that area. Perhaps a nice product could be created that fastens easily to that spot and then serves as a versatile platform for mounting all kinds of lights and\or devices to that surface. Paying particular attention to helping avoid the potential conflict with suspension travel.

And then finally, yes, it might be feasible to create Rumbux like lower engine and sump protection using bars as the structure. And addressing lean angle improvements. Possibly even providing intentional support for add-ons like highway pegs, Go-Pro mounts, Tool tubes.......etc.

Just brain storming.
I would be in for this

Some questions and observations. There are oem mounting points under the headlights now. The Yamaha brackets to mount lights there are intended for the H7 aux lights Yamaha sells, with a yoke that spans the light. IF the Yamaha crash bar is used, there isn't enough room for the lights there and the upper crash bar hoop, so the light kit includes brackets to mount to the bars.

So what is it you're looking for in that area? A generic bracket(s) that allow a post mount light to be fitted there? A mount that has a flat plate across that area to allow a variety of mounting points for different brands/styles of lights?

So for those that want the folding shift lever, what's the price point that would make you jump on the purchase? If we could identify another dirt bike or ATV lever already out there that would work for the Super Ten, it would obviously be cheaper. The Super Tenere by itself is too small a market to get the aftermarket to produce them at a <$50 price point, IMHO. It's all about the volume.

For those interested in a tank ring mounted platform, what would you want to mount there? In terms of weight and size?

This one is quite expensive, but for a big footer like me, it's worth every penny.

Well, this is my approach. I have mentioned to an ex-aerospace engineer that has made a business out of adventure motorcycling and parts related to solely one brand (must be good business). I am going to let him chase down the items that he feels that he can profit and that people are willing to buy. Now, I know that it feels a little like too much competition for some around here, but that is the world we live in. If those people who want to sell things to this forum and play "cutsies" every time someone wants to offer a product or a solution, or try to set up a group buy, or whatever the case may be, then they are going to have to put some game together where they are the type of business that people want to do business with. Now, I want to be clear. I do not have any business ties to Craig Johnson or CJ Designs. I know Craig, and I know he is a kickass dude. That is why I figured I would try to get him in on making parts that we want or need. "So, if anyone is interested, PM me and I will get you a price for widget A...but don't tell anyone what the price is, ok, because I have, like, a thing going here."

Well this thread is going no where. ::) I asked what people wanted and aside from a couple of pretty specific items like the toolbox for the rear rack that doesn't go past the tail lights, the rest has not been very productive.

As to Anders79_SWE request, Ernie A can likely make you one. LINK He fabricates custom stuff, including fuel cells. For what you want and with his experience doing fuel cells for the Super Ten, that shouldn't be too hard or expensive. He's a friend of mine and I do have a fuel cell he made on my bike, but I'm not getting anything for passing the info on.

@Autoteach - I understand part of your rant, but not why you failed to answer any of my questions, but quoted my post. I asked to gather more info. I have some ideas on a tank bag ring mount, but am not sure how applicable it would be for weights beyond tankbag weights. Yes, I'm a vendor. But I'm not going to invest a lot of time trying to bring a product to market only to find out that no one is interested because it's over most people's price point. That seems to be what Jaxon is running into with your comments. I note that he's gotten better about public pricing, with prices listed on his web site now.

The Super Ten is a small market. You can find everything you want out there, but when you get to looking for that product that actually fits the Super Ten, it's harder. Folding shift lever is a perfect example. If you've got a 125 dirt bike, you can buy one for $30 or even less. Try finding one for a big Trailie and it jumps up quite a bit. Try finding one for the Super Ten, with it's unique lever and it drops down to one vender that is modifying the oem lever and that's expensive.

The thing for me is that I can manufacture a lot of stuff my self but since I alredy have other projects(cars and bikes) Ive decided that for the Super T I only buy stuff that fits so I can spend more time riding then manufacturing...

That's all fine, but no one makes what you want. Even the stock rack over hangs the tail lights. It's unlikely there are a lot of people that share your stated desire. That leaves you with making it yourself or paying someone else to make you a custom one. ::003::

Eric,

I haven't read this whole post, but your right.. We have made a ton of really cool stuff for customers over the years. There friends and other customers that see (whatever we made) and they are like WE HAVE TO HAVE ONE.... Then I say the price, and they are like...... " O' I thought it would be $20.00 ".... Ummmm NO....... one example, we looked into machining a custom billet shift lever for the Tenere. We priced it all out from A-Z, we invested some money and lots of time into this... When it was done, we spoke to customers, we looked at the market, we looked at margins, Etc.... The end consensus was that most customers would not be willing to pay for what we even had in the part as our cost.. What the customers number ended up being would not even come close to what we had in the cost of each part..... That was the end of that.............
That's why we took the stock shifter and modified it for customers.. We have performed the mod for many customers and the part works great for a much more reasonable price.. I feel ya on bringing new parts to market. Most average "normal" everyday customers have no clue the cost of material, development, margins, Etc.... Also, I don't know how many motorcycle business work as a 'non profit' organization, but ours cant, we have four walls to pay for each month... There are customers that are blown away by the thought we cant work for less than cost on parts. :D Its an expensive proposition....
For the folks that shop there butt off all over the net to save 10-20 bucks, just consider some of the small shops out in the world that are just trying to pay the rent, and are there to offer great customers support........... The Wal-Mart effect is killing the mom & pop joints......
Eric, good luck with your new part(s)... Have a great Holliday Season ! ::016::
