Not to sentimental about material stuff but the memories of the place and bike and everybody I’ve met and ridden bikes with has been awesome. The Tenere brought me here for some great friendships. If Yamaha would hurry up and bring the 700 I’d probably be on one. The farther the Super got off road for me the less I enjoyed it. NOT the bike my age and health is not what it was in 2011.
As it is I’m holding my head down from another detached retina surgery this past Friday on my good eye. That makes 6 surgeries on my eyes since August 2016. Hope to see you guys this year!

Yep, I got it.

And truegrip, it don't matter if you get the 700, or any other bike, I'll ride whatever with ya. We both got tractors!
I'm no spring chicken either. Lets get 4-wheelers and climb mountains like 2 old goats.

Sorry to hear that was necessary, but glad surgery is able to repair things for you. Heal up and hope to see you this year.

Thanks guys I appreciate the well wishes and feel blessed to live in a time of knowledge when it comes to health. Hundred years ago I’d probably be blind. I plan on being at Romney this year may just demo bikes and volunteer to help we’ll see. Snake check out GXOR on Facebook that’s what I’m building momma and me to climb passes and check out NP and travel about with. That will be her BDR type vehicle. I got the truck, lift and wheels just waiting to heal up to put together.

I’ll come to Patrickg450 rally too wherever it’s at. I could use another skull T shirt ::) :D just teasing Paddy

Dude!!!! Bring that machine! You can have just as much fun, but be sitting in comfort, running sweep. Then when I'm "sweep bike" and go down, nobody ahead will be the wiser. Your my pick-up dust-off buddy. Then when we catch back up with the boys, cuzz they FINALLY noticed I\we aren't behind them, we can say we stopped for pics. ;)

Harrison will be thrilled too because you can haul the saws!! Oh, and a winch! Awesome for tree removal.
Hey, and would you get a big Yetti for us too? (we'll pitch in) No reason to come out of the woods now when Patrick gets hungry.
Oh, and some chairs too. Bob needs his nap after a couple of his gymnastic get-offs.

This is not bad news. This is progress!!!

I should add, I'll take the wheel and you can jump on whatever bike I brought, anytime you get the itch.
In fact, I'll bring whatever bikes you request.

I'm thinking I'll be digging on climate control and tunes. You are gonna have tunes, right?

Weekly bump to keep this thread alive and hopefully an East and/or West event will happen in 2018. Anyone crossing into pre-planning stage yet?

Discussion is underway, at least for something on the east coast. Somebody holding a parallel event in the mid and west would be cool.

Arkansas has some awesome riding! I rode my ST out there last may. A lot of box turtles in the road... Colorado would be fun (as a Colorado resident)!

PatrickG450 has agreed to be the leader of the 1st Annual Super Tenere Rally of the East, and I'll assist as needed. Thank you Patrick!

We are thinking to hold it in the Tellico Plains area, which is great riding, sort of central for the eastern part of the country, and wellll - we just like riding in the area. Patrick is working to better nail down a venue that is conducive to campers and hotel stays.

Question about timing: Coming from what folks have already said in this thread, October is the month and earlier will be better. The question id's who would be able to come on the weekend of
Oct 3-6 ?
or
Oct 10-13 ?

Note that for those who get Columbus day off, it is Monday Oct 8 this year.

On your way to everywhere, , Iowa
Sounds great! Thanks Patrick and Bob
I hope I can make that , Oct is a good time for me because it won't mess with the trips I have planned with Michelle.
We haven't been to the area for 35 years or so.

I couldn't remember if that conversation happened before you got there or not - but yeah, if he put something together in the PNW, I'd do whatever I had to to get there.

He dropped a half dozen epic ride routes without thinking about it, knows all the local dirt, and is just a hugely friendly, outgoing, welcoming guy who knows how to host a party. I planned to go to CO, ride, sleep, repeat. Getting together, breaking bread, hanging out, adult beverages - none of that was on even on my radar.

Cooler rides!!
Well, you voted east and got it..hahaha! I wouldn't mind putting on a ride someday but, not a "National" event. To me, that is something that should be bigger that what I can take on. I hope we do get to meet up again and ride, even if it's a smaller event like Colorado. Also, if you (and/or David and the rest at Colorado...all good people) want to ride the PNW, I'd be happy to have you come. Just would need to plan a little.

Hmmmmm.

I'll need to bring something bigger than the teardrop to the Romney Rally if I'm staying in the area from May to October.
Or did you mean for me to go home between events?

From what I've learned about your job I don't see any reason you would need to go back to the office during those months.

Way to go Patrick ::012:: ...couldn't do any better than getting Bob to assist.

I'd probably vote for Oct 3-6...but it's a close call.
