It's simply the best! I ride to get away. See stuff. Drink & be merry at night with only the coons and owls to bother. Out here in Orygun, we've got lots of opportunity to pull off the beaten path and set-up camp for free (or cheap). To me, moto-camping is the essence of adventure. There nothing like loading up your bike the night before a big trip, checking your list and heading off to bed knowing that in the morning you'll be off on an adventure to new places and spaces.
It's great to ride all day and let the trip unfold, naturally, landing where you may for the night. All of my best memories of riding involve camping. Even if I could more readily afford it, I'd still be inclined to camp. Riding to me is about open spaces, and nothing tops off the day like a great night spent outdoors with a good friends. In the morning, the fresh air and rising sun wash away the fog of the night and I'm ready for more.
I dig it.
