I'll keep watching for more info but should be able to do this. When you say nobbies suggested on loop 1 is it because of dirt terrain or rock? and could it be done with a 50/50 tire? single track or logging type roads?

50/50 (heidenau scouts)or better should be good. Battle wings.. Not so much. Once the snow is gone this coming spring and we confirm the routes, we will have better recommendations. I hope to scout the routes in my Subaru, so that should give you an idea of the roads. Easy 2 track at worst

I'm not falling for that trick.

Bet that Subaru can go places that would have my beloved Tenere scratching and clawing to follow.

Sneaky devil. :)

I just modified an earlier post in this thread that may be of interest to those coming in from out of town. I will be getting in touch with Jeff the owner of Sportland Yamaha in Cle Elum to find out if he would be interested in some extra rides. He knows a thing or two of trails in the area. His shop is normally closed on Monday's and Tuesdays, so I will keep an update going here.

Looks like the Canada west Horizons Unlimited meeting is Aug.21-24 at Nakusp BC. Maybe we can round up more than one Tenere to attend the HU meet, as I was the only one there on a S10 in 2012. ::013::
With the PNW Cascades weekend ride the 16-17th, this could be turned into a couple of good weekends with a few days in between to explore more backroads in those areas. ::26::

Hey Bernie,

I may be able to get some time off to hit the Horizon's Unlimited gathering in Nakusp. Funny that you were there in 2012. I passed through Nakusp that summer. I was coming from Banff/Jasper/Revelstoke and rode the ferry with a couple on BMW's that were attending. In hindsight, I should've stopped and attended. I didn't really have anywhere to be. :)

Anyway, I was thinking about seeing if anyone wanted to ride the WABDR during this event. I'm thinking that people could meet Wednesday night in Stevenson. Ride part 1 to Packwood on Thursday and then ride part 2 to Ellensburg/Cle Elum on Friday. Saturday and Sunday would be spent at the gathering. Monday, Tuesday and part of Wednesday would be spent getting to Canada (Maybe as far as Christina Lake Provencial Park for those going to Nakusp?) And then get to Nakusp sometime Thursday afternoon?

I'm not 100% I can swing this just yet, but I wanted to test the waters to see who might be interested in doing part or all of the BDR before and after the Cle Elum gathering.

Looking forward to it!

Michael

I was thinking seriously about Altrider's Hoh rainforest ride. It too is planned for August according to their website, no dates. Have any of you heard anything more? The Cascade Ride isn't going to accidentally overlap is it. I hate making decisions...

Funny you should ask this, we literally just finalized dates on that today. The Hoh Ride will be August 22-24, and we'll get our site updated soon for that. Lots of fun stuff going on in August!

Another great option! I've been wanting to do the Hoh ride for 2 years, just couldn't make it work with schedules.

Southern BDR Thursday-Friday

Cle Elum Saturday-Sunday

Northern BDR Monday-Wednesday

North Cascades to Olympic Peninsula Thursday

Alt Rider Hoh Ride Friday-Sunday

I better get the vacation request in immediately!

I think Jeremy of Altrider is throwing in some assistance of some sort along with Yamaha corp for this ride. We are confirming this.

IN POST # 2
I just posted some links for lodging and camping for the area. There are tons of spots in the National Forest a person can just throw a tent up if they want to. I will be calling and checking with NWCajun to see if some hotel rates have been blocked at the Best Western.

For those who are camping, I just made a reservation at Whispering Pines RV 509-674-7278. They have a tent area overlooking a pond. It's $ 10 a night, they also have showers. Unfortunately no fires that time of year. You need to make advanced reservations. I told the person I made my reservation with about the PNW Super Tenere group ride. She will try and put campers from the PNW group in the same camp area. ::013::

There are a few of us planning to do some scouting soon as the snow continues to melt.

Can I get a message sent to me if you are thinking of coming to this event. We have begun talks to the food people and need to know the count as time goes along.

It is going to be a great ride weekend.

We have 2 more sponsors for the event ::012:: Alex from Konflict Motorsports and Darryl from Cyclops LED lights, they are both hard core ADV guys who also make great products! Check them out last year at the Starvation ridge 24 hour ride
