Pacific Northwest Cascade weekend ride Aug 15-17 2014

Hi guys ::001::
The plans are in place for a ride in and around Cle Elum Washington Aug 16 and 17 2014. We have Sportland Yamaha and Altrider on board for support(so far). Multiple loop rides will be offered. Sections 2 & 3 of the WaBDR, a 3 pass dash off road and several pavement only routes are planned. Mix and match as you want. We are hoping for 20-30 riders but here is plenty of lodging/camping in and around town to support more. Still lots of stuff to plan so stay tuned!
!!!! Updated 5/28 !! We will have an Ice breaker pizza gathering at Sportland Yamaha Friday evening the 15th of Aug at 7:00 PM with dirt bike instructor Chet Mainwaring. He will give a short clinic on bike set up and tips to riding off road.

If anyone coming in from out of town wants to extend this ride weekend on into Monday and Tuesday, there may be a chance the hosting dealer's owner could show you around the mountains. He knows some trails and routes used for snomobiling. I will be contacting him on this for you more ADVenturous Types!!! His shop is normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays to allow him to do this.

I bought a Wee Strom for my dauther and planed to stay close to home as she gains experience. Your in range and the Pacific Northwest has lots to offer on both sides of the 49th parrell.
As our first season of riding together on her new bike progresses this is a great oppertunity for a destination ride.
Washington ,Oregon and BC have a extensive AVD routes thanks in advance for showcasing your area.
I will follow and and stay in touch with the Vancouver Island members we dont require much of an excuse to leave the rock.

The Island is 400 miles long so there are some rides here I am sure we take for granted.
Like most of the Pacific Northwest logging has opened up the back country some of the areas here and where you are similar you can ride to your ability and camp were you like. We all live on Islands ours is a little smaller than yours.
It wouldn't take much to get Doug, Bernie,Steve and others to put together an Island tour.

Jeff, A ride south of the border is always a good time. ::008:: Or a ride north to Vancouver Island for you guys if that works out also.
Have followed a few of the forest service roads through the northwest of WA and there is some fantastic scenery and good varied riding along them.
Will keep the August dates in mind also. Bernie

Looks like the Canada west Horizons Unlimited meeting is Aug.21-24 at Nakusp BC. Maybe we can round up more than one Tenere to attend the HU meet, as I was the only one there on a S10 in 2012. ::013::
With the PNW Cascades weekend ride the 16-17th, this could be turned into a couple of good weekends with a few days in between to explore more backroads in those areas. ::26::
