A couple days ago, I cleaned my throttle bodies, put everything back together - with no spare bolts or screws at the end!
She started up fine, idles nicely, no problems. Took her for a normal ride and after a few minutes in moderate traffic, I got “C.TEMP Hi”
Of course I stopped right away, and hit the kill switch. At the top left of the display was also “Err”. I assume that means error.
I chilled for a few minutes, started it back up and all was well for a bit until… “C.TEMP Hi” and the “Err”.
I wasn’t doing anything special, and she has never overheated before - even in hotter, slower conditions.
Other facts:
- Fan kicks on at 221, off at 211 every time
- Coolant level is good at the reservoir and up to the brim of the rad. It looks pretty clean.
- I have NOT flushed the coolant
- Oil level is good, changed recently
- No sign of any coolant leaks
- Radiator looks ok. No obvious dents, etc…
- Nothing blocking the main inlet in the fairing.
Questions:
- What else can I check?
- Does the “Err” message mean I can look at a diagnostic of some kind?
- Could I have f’ed something up doing the throttle body work? A sensor or something?
Thanks for any help!
