Interesting. I also have a friend who owns a lot of First Gear stuff and swears by it. In contrast, he has the Tourmaster Synergy heated jacket and has to keep re-enforcing the weak spots as they come loose.

Maybe it all depends upon who they are sourcing from at any given time. Shoot, now you have me re-thinking...might be a good idea to go with Klim or the likes.
Tremor...look into REV'IT GEAR...tremendous build quality
Added bonus is the the motorcycle superstore has it on sale sometimes.
I got a air jacket and 4 season matching silver pants for under 250.00
Crazy cool and beautifully made items.

I generally agree about the REV'IT gear, as I own their 'Sand' jacket. It is the most comfortable and best-fitting jacket I've owned, except I have one major beef.... the inner 'water proof' removable layer. Whenever I ride in the rain, the outer shell gets wet and rides against the 'water proof' inner layer...and the water leaches though the seams of this 'water proof' layer and gets me wet. This doesn't take very long either. I know now to put on my rain gear right away.. My Bellfast Mercury NEVER had that problem. We get a lot of rain in Japan, so that makes me hesitant to chose Rev'it again.

Feeling a little dense. What company are we discussing? Is there a reason we can't mention their name?

I think that's the basic problem with "inner layer" waterproofing. Where does the water from your chest go? In your crotch usually.

The major problem area for me is the seam at the bottom of the liner where the water collects at and soaks into. I see they are starting to get away from the inner liners with their new gortex jackets but those are kinda pricy.
