Anybody ever use these Oil Filters.Seems like a good deal for 6 filters. $32.00 on Flea Bay,WWhat do ya think? ::007::/ ::008::
Last OEM fileter I purchased was just over $12.00. I'll be shopping for some others. I am following the "every other" oil filter replacement as it relates to oil changes, so the cost is not attrocious, but it's annoying to pay a premium when you know you can get the same or better quality for less. ::26:: ::003::sail2xxs said:I'm not a filter pro, but I like to stay with the stock offering to keep things simple. The stock Yamaha filters from Stadium Yamaha are $8.86 - 10% promo they are running, for about $7.95/filter plus shipping.
Jaxon (RideonADV) has a thread on this in the Vendor section.

Doesn't the 'every other' refer to the oil, not the filter? As in change the oil at every other filter change? Oil will do 10-15k easy these days, the filter will, but it's nice to know it's got a lot of cleaning left in it.Koinz said:Last OEM fileter I purchased was just over $12.00. Jeff said:I'm not sure about those filters but I got 6 Purolator L14612 Oil Filters for $28.22 from Amazon to the front door.
There's a guy who has two pretty well-researched pages, one on oil for motorcycles, one for oil filters. He's a V-Strom guy, so that's obviously his focus, but he rates hands down the 14610 as the best filter made for motorcycles right now. Here's the page:hANNAbONE said:What JEFF said...the Purolator 14612 or 14610 is yellow and is the best low dollar bang for your buck.
I get mine from a advanced Auto...

Guess who own Champion Labs nowadays? Yes... Fram !!!Dallara said:~
Just as an FYI... But worth remembering...
Bosch *OWNS* Purolator, and neither has their filters made by Champion Labs - at least not since 2006.

And both use "Filtech" synthetic media, as least partially, in all their filters, so buying a Bosch is essentially like getting a Purolator... Only usually the Bosch filters are a little less expensive, and they're black. Only real problem with the Bosch 3300 is that it is about 8mm longer than the stock OEM Yamaha filter, despite being listed as a direct replacement. For some this isn't an issue, but it is with some skid plates.

That dealer will never make the same mistake again! They will see you coming and lock the door!snakebitten said:It's even worse for me. I bought a service contract. 3 years unlimited mileage. (Suckers lol)
I don't know how much an oil change cost. Or a FD fluid change. Or a TBS. Or a valve check, spoke check, steering stem lube, swing arm............
I drink coffee. Chat with the kids in parts, the finance guy, the sales staff, and Yamaha customers.
Pampered, is the word that best describes the feeling.
I've enjoyed it immensely. Don't need no BMW to get that feeling.
Wow Snake! What an awesome deal! Next time I'm looking for a bike, I will definitely keep an eye out for that - places around here have prepaid contracts with xx number of services, but nothing with unlimited mileage. Combine that with the full 5 year YES, and you're golden.snakebitten said:It's even worse for me. I bought a service contract. 3 years unlimited mileage. (Suckers lol)
