Mortiis, that was by no means a personal attach!!! My own brain thinks Japanese technology is some of the best on the planet!! I have liked the looks of the 955 Flourescent Green color scemes though!!!

I am just over chain drive after this VSTROM it has been only my second bike ever with a chain!!! Hats off to reliable Shafties like Honda/Yamaha!!

Jap reliability is still better than Triumph (in my opinion) but they are getting better all the time, I'll take a look at their new rides but I would struggle to leave the Jap makes.

Just had good experiances with Suzuki and Honda. One of my best mates had a real bad experiance with a Triple R this year, granted they sorted it all out but it does raise concerns, most likely an isolated incident though.

dealer network as well. I can't find a reputable place here in Richmond to service my Speed Triple.......

i guess that is a factor as well. There are 4-5 Yamaha dealers here in Seattle area and I still went eastward 60 miles to a small mom and pop dealer who seems very personal. It is even hard to trust a dealer who may be next door. Most times it is crappy service.

Finding a good dealer is paramount, can take a few years of trying places out, once ya found one stick with them.
Very true ... however, the people involved seem to be very transient ..... takes ages for you to find a good mechanic that you trust with your beloved machine ... next thing you know they've moved on :(

Yeah I second that, luckily the dealer I use the sales guy and mechanic have both been there for more than 15 years, maybe longer but that's how long I have been going there, great service actually makes it hard to buy a bike from another dealer even when the deal is better, sometimes you got to think long term.

+1! I really tried to buy my S10 locally but neither dealer would budge from MSRP. One even tacked on an extra $99.00 for processing or some other BS. I have never paid list so I looked elsewhere. I see it as a business decision, they don't deal and I take my money to someone who will. Neither local dealer is stellar so it's not like I would loose much if they folded. A little cold-hearted I suppose but again it's business not personal.

like the tail light. One thing that i am not a huge fan of on the s10 is the use of an old R6 tail light. but then again, guess the japanese are the quin-esseential at supply chain management........

Is it? I've not noticed that .... I thought the whole thing was designed from top to bottom .... except the indicators.

Both the owner of 30 yrs and the mechanic of 15 years seem pretty stable. Both of them also have a Super 10 on order. I think i will be taken care of pretty well. I will have to show them a thing or two since I have already started reading the service manual for kicks!!

This site has pictures of the upcoming Tiger 800 models. They are introducing both an on and off-road model.

It really makes me wonder if the rumors of the Tiger 1200 are true...
Don't look as cool as I thought it would, shame, it may grow on me though..

Not herd anything about the 1200 models for a while now.. got my ear to the ground though

I remember reading an early review which stated that several parts had been used from other Yamaha bikes

My first impression is that the F800GS is a better looking bike, but looks aren't everything.

I was thinking about the 1200 rumors today, and if Triumph did release it with a shaft drive, I'm not sure if I'd trust it. Yamaha has a lot of shaft drive history, but as far as I know shaft would be new for Triumph.
