just installed Touratech Kahedo (high) seat on my ST. Much wider and comfy vs OEM seats. Also added an aftermarket shock absorber assembly from the same company...haven't had the chance to really test them on long ride but so far so good. The rear seat on the rear view photo is a Sargeant model (also wider vs OEM).

Let us know how the seat fares after you get some miles on it. I've been looking at both the Touratech and Sargent but can't get past the price tag on the TT ???

I've had many Sargent seats on previous bikes so I'm amazed at all the bad reviews here for the Gen1 Sarge.

bad reviews? the only complaint I have with my v1 is the pitch of the seat, and that can be fixed. works for me.

You think maybe it's like one of those Sachs or Showa's that BMW tries to sell for similar numbers? ::024::

Must be a Teutonic thing... ::025::

that's why it's called a 'shock' ::014::
my rear yacugar, 2 way compression adj, and remote preload was $1250. I did have to ride to the coast of california to pick it up!
win-win

A triple-clicker (rebound, low-speed compression, high-speed compression adjusters) Penske 8987 is only $1135 (and the preload adjustment is so easy no hydraulic adjuster is necessary), and the twin-clicker (rebound & compression) 8983 is only $850 (again with the easy preload adjuster), and both have wonderful remote reservoirs with nice, stainless steel braided hoses and proper fittings... And they're custom-built specific to your weight, riding style, etc. complete with spring.

For less than $1500 you can have a custom-built Penske twin-clicker 8983 shock with proper weight spring *AND* your forks re-done with proper weight springs and Penske valving!!! ::008::

That Touratech stuff really is crazy expensive...

Geez Dallara, get on the Penske bandwagon a bit harder why doncha! ::003::

My main concern with the Touratech stuff is where to get it serviced. For $1100 I would hope to be buying the last shock I need for the Tenere and be able to get it serviced to maintain its peak performance. Do we know who actually makes the Touratech shock? I doubt it is Touratech themselves...

The shock looks like a WP suspension, which would explain the price. It would also be easily rebuilt at any KTM dealer that has a clue about suspension. I would think it should work extremely well

Do KTM dealers really do suspension work? You wouldn't catch a Yamaha dealer dead with a shock apart.

That would be cool if a dealer was that knowledgeable.

Netherlands?

I dunno, with 2 more commonly available and service options in the USA both priced more affordable I don't see Touratech doing too well with this line except for their "bling" factor at Starbucks...

And so is WP, imagine that

Not any longer...

After KTM bought out the WP (White Power) suspension company they moved the entire operation to Austria. Here's their address:

WP PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS GMBH
Gewerbegebiet Nord 8
A-5222 Munderfing
Tel.: +43 (0)7744 / 20240-0
Fax: +43 (0)7744 / 20240-9150

You can check out their web site here - http://www.wp-group.com/home/

They do still maintain a distributorship in The Netherlands, but manufacturing has apparently been moved to the facility in Austria (http://www.wp-group.com/en/wp-group/locations/)

It's also worthy to note that now WP doesn't just make suspension components, but also the manufacture of radiators, exhaust systems, and even frames.

As for TracTive... They were formed by the core group of guys in The Netherlands that were formerly with WP (White Power) but left behind when KTM moved everything to Austria...

"Tractive Suspension started 1st of June 2010 after the production and R&D departments of WP Suspension moved to Austria. The core development and engineering team took this chance to start Tractive Suspension. The total experience developing High End Aftermarket and OEM suspension products adds up to more than 100 years. In the previous jobs the people at Tractive developed products used for Moto GP, World MX, Super Motard, Trail, ATV, Formula 1, Snowmobiles."

You can read more here - http://www.tractivesuspension.com/about_tractive_suspension.html

Just FYI...
