Well I lucked out and found a black Super Tenere in Danbury CT. It had one mile on it. I bought the bike from Danbury Power Sports, and I dealt directly with the owner.

I rode it home in the rain (we had 7 inches of rain in 7 days). Today was the first day the sun came out, so out for a ride in the country. Whew sure is nice. I am still getting the feel for the bike. At speeds above 50 mph I am getting a lot of buffeting. So I tucked my head down a little and it really helps. So I think I may be headed for a taller wind shield, but will hold off until I ride some more. I rode about 100 miles today and went to Lovers Leap, the Gunnery, a bunch of towns with funny names like Danbury, Southbury, Waterbury, Roxbury,..........somebody must have had bury on their mind when they named those towns. But it sure is pretty out there with the Fall colors and the rivers full from the recent rains.

Even tried out some gravel in Putnam.

My bike came with the Metz tires. And they feel good. Sure seems thrifty with the gas too, and that may have a lot to do with taking it easy during break in (breaking in the engine and the rider!) ::022::

Sweet!!! Glad you get to ply a few miles in the sun and get used to the bike. It's a lot of fun and can be 'bury' interesting to find out what works best for you. I'm thinking taller windshield too, as I get pushed around some at medium speeds, especially when riding two-up and having to sit up straight and proper.

Congrats! I was born in Hartford and grew up in western Ma. You might want to try putting your windscreen in the high position before you spend money on a new one.

You know I put the windscreen in the high position, then read the owners manual. It said the high holes were only for the accessory windscreen, so I went back out and lowered it. Have you tried to operate it in the upper position?

Glad you are enjoying your new Steed! Originally from CT also, Coventry & Old Saybrook. I use an adjustable windshield bracket but still make a seasonal swap out of the OEM & large Parabellum windshields.

Congrats!

I'm 6' with a 32" inseam, and for me the buffeting was unbearable with the stock screen. I went the opposite way, though, CalSci shorty to get my head above the turbulence and into cleaner air. YMMV. Of course in Florida any extra breeze is appreciated.

Enjoy the new ride!

Hello Danbury - Hello from Los Angeles. I grew up in New Canaan, Stamford and East Norwalk. For sure nice places to ride around there. Enjoy the ride and ride safely-!!
I have the Cal Sci short with the Yamaha side deflectors and am happy at 6'3. I suppose it could get better but it's the best I have ever had. For the cold I would try the Cal Sci tall and side deflectors or any taller shield ...
I used to ride Rt 7 all the way north but it's been a few decades since then. I bet it's better now. Also I remember greaat roads around the Bethal area; many many nice roads.
best,
-dtz

Congrats! I also have a Black S10 from Danbury Powersports. I work two miles from there.
Matter of fact, I live two miles from Lovers leap.
Weather starting to become less than ideal around here, but there are still good riding days left.
Are you happy with your purchase so far?

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Danbury Powersports. Was it service related?

My buying experience there was good. I dealt directly with the owner and things went very smoothly. I have not been back for service, and plan on doing my own maintenance.
