Thank you to all who responded to my original post. I appreciate the warm welcome and am glad to see some riders who are familiar with CT.

I have put 500 miles on the bike so far. Mostly back roads. As many predicted, I like the bike more, the more I ride it. My average fuel economy is 50.9 mpg for the first 500 miles. Those were pretty easy break-in miles, keeping the revs below 4000 rpm. One more ride and I will do the first oil change and final drive oil change. But that will have to wait for Hurricane Sandy to make an exit before I can get out again.

Seat in the lower position and windshield in the upper postion has definitely helped the buffeting. I will be scoping windshields, luggage, skid plates, and trailers at the motorcycle show in New York in January.

I do love that big twin. This bike was an excellent choice for me. I could not be happier.

Congrats on the bike. I'm down on Long Island and I'm up in CT all the time. I changed to a 22" Parabellum along with the OEM wind deflectors. It's mounted on a Madstad bracket. I find its a great combo and at 5'10" I have the screen all the way down and can see about 2"-3" above the screen. It forces me to sit up straight, which is a good thing. I would like to try the MRA Extreme but I'm not willing to keep spending money on an experiment. The stocker is perfect for the summer but with the colder temps more coverage is better. The Madstad gives a lot of flexibility with windscreen choices. Shoot me a pm if you ever want to get together for a ride. I love the back roads of New England.
