::026::big dave said:Why oh why do we all get so inflammed about reviews of our bikes that don't match our opinions ?
Doesn't matter what bike you ride, I'm also a member of a TDM site and people on there are getting all flustered about current web based article.
Bottom line is I like and thoroughly enjoy riding both my TDM and my S10. I couldn't care a flying f*ck what other peoples opinions are. They choose not to ride bikes like mine and I choose not to ride bikes like theirs.
I sometimes wonder if those naysayers are worried that they may have personally made a wrong choice of bike and criticise others as a way of self delusion and self support.
I agree that a bit of cross manufacturer banter can be humerous (S10 vs BMW)
But please let's all not get all anal about the opinion of others.

Cool! ::008::Rasher said:Things are changing in the UK, and the press are getting better at recognizing bikes cannot be judged solely on lap times, power and speed.
Really? Then you might as well find a way to disable the traction control because a bike with 'only 100hp' doesn't need it. Great reasoning....yep 'spot-on' with that I'd say. Also, I travel down a road paved with deep gravel on the way to work and have no fear of squeezing the front brake with reckless abandon..know why? Because the S10 just stops with no drama... This guy bags on a specific strength of this bike's ABS after half-heartedly playing with it maybe what...once? ...yep he's 'spot-on' with that assessment as well. Egad, if I felt the same way this guy did about the bike, I'd have it up for sale.switchback said:I found the MCN review spot on. Couldn't have said it better. As for the Metal mules, perhaps someone needs to send him a set of Micatechs.

It seems the road that leads to the adventure bikes is a common one. I had similar experiences lead me down this path, except my friends were all named Mr Cruiser. None of them have followed me either, much to my dismay. Like I said in another topic, different strokes for different folks, I can hardly hold it against them.GrahamD said:Same here Rasher, Got back from a big ride one day, realized that I was A bit sick of having to miss this road because Mt Ducati didn't like it because it was too rough, couldn't go there because Mr BMW didn't want to get his bike dusty, couldn't go here because there were too many police for Mr RRRR. Got a bit boring after a while.
It's the coffee's fault..I was up all night writing papers I'd procrastinated on. :-\ O The article starts out characterizing the bike pretty well. They were hitting some bullseyes, but for whatever reason their perspective became myopic and their reasoning was getting looney near the end. This 'departure from the pattern' seemed to correlate with where their knowledge and experence was lacking....off road. Still, with the wet tarmac in the background, the TCS comment left me dumbfounded.big dave said:Tremor

Perhaps it didn't work due to the PINK color of the gear......rem said:I bought my Tenere so I could become a chick magnet, show off my skin tight leather pants, and impress the snot out of all the biker dudes.
I've decided to keep it anyway. R ::008:: ::022::
