+1. The Madstad stuff is great! Made in America by a small businessman. Wish I could have tested Mark's design, but a torn rotator cuff repair job prevents that!
I try to buy Made in the USA. I didn't buy Harley or Victory I know, they just dont have the bike I want. I love the fact Madstad is made in USA. Didn't know this and will weigh a lot in deciding when the time comes .... just a little more research needed.

Got mine ordered last week - looks like it is on the way from the email they sent today. Looking forward to seeing what she can do......

I just ordered my bracket as well. I have the side deflectors and the taller Yamaha wind screen, hope this bracket and its adjustments does the trick.

I mounted my Parabellum ahead of the Madstad bracket. I was surprised at how little improvement there was over just the Parabellum mounted by itself. It is nice to be able to lower the screen for off road ventures. In the higher positions there is a bit of vibration and clatter. Gonna try it with the stock screen and see how that goes.

A little "vibration" with the large CalSci windscreen and MadStad. Overall, I am very happy with the options the adjustable bracket gives me.

Cool! I wonder if I can install that along with my SW Motech vibe-damped GPS mount. I imagine the cross bar wouldn't play well with that.

Poor explanantion on my part - more a " rattling around" of the screen at low speeds. No vibration from the mount and it was a ridiculously easy install. Great customer service as well ! All in all one of the better items I have bought for the bike. I am going to do an extended test this weekend and will give a better report.

Yesterday, I had mine, with stock shield, over 120mph. I did not notice any vibes or rattling. It appeared everything was holding up well in the lower ranges also.

Do you have the crossbar on yours. Just wondering if that would increase the stability. I don't have the crossbar.

How much, if any, better wind protection did the bracket provide once you adjusted it?

With the stock shield it gives more protection and if you want more air on the face shield, the bracket will let the shield fold back enough to accomplish that.

The stock shield will not block all of the wind, no matter what you do. At least not for me. I'm 6' with a 30" inseam.
The helmet and center of my body is fine, but the shoulder area gets a lot of wind. To stop that a Parabellum shield will work great.

I think I may have found your rattle. Today before I rode, I was checking the bike out and tried to get the shield to rattle.
Low and behold, it did. lol.. Check the two bolts with nylock nuts. Mine were a little loose and when I tightened them the small rattle went away. I think that may be yours.

Thanks Jim - that did seem to help a bit. As a mini-review: using the bracket with a large CalSci screen. Great overall coverage with both - get clean air just over my helmet and a little wind striking at the elbows (basically coming over the mirrors). One could probably get a wider more "touring" oriented screen to eliminate this but it isn't bothersome to me. All-in-all very pleased with both these add-ons.

Update :

I received the bracket today and it is a nice piece for sure. I have both the standard Yamaha windscreen and the taller Yamaha windscreen. I installed the stock screen on and went for a nice 60 mile ride and was very surprised at the change. The bracket can be adjusted in about 10 seconds and I tested several different positions. I will try the taller Yamaha screen tomorrow to compare with today's run with the shorter screen. I am 5'11 and had the bracket in the highest position with a nice tilt on it. The wind flow is certainly higher and over my helmet. The original position with no bracket had the wind hitting me in the middle of the face or even my chin area. I wear ear plugs but before the bracket install I could only hear wind and no motor or exhaust. Now, I hear the motor and the exhaust note. I purchased the bracket with the bar for the gps and I am amazed at the improvement so far. The taller wind screen will be tested tomorrow.

More to come.

More info:

I installed the taller Yamaha wind screen and did a 300 mile ride today. To be honest, I didn't see a huge difference with the taller screen. The bracket allows enough adjustments to get the slip stream up and over the helmet. I suppose the taller screen does punch a bigger hole in the air as the slip stream is just outside the shoulders on the sides. The taller Yamaha windscreen is not as nice as the smaller screen and seems a bit flimsy . I will likely put the smaller windscreen back on. Either way the bracket is a great tool to have and is a quality piece for sure.

The Madstad bracket was a vast improvement and is worth the money in my opinion.
I'm running it with stock windscreen and deflectors and a Wolfman tankbag.

I'm very happy with this setup, but I may tweak things a bit by trying bar end mirrors and Touratech handguards, each with a smaller profile than the stockers...

A big thumbs up to Mark for producing a fine product!

I haven't done a very thorough search, although I punched in Madstad Windshield and got nothing. Has anyone tried the Madstad bracket and 20" windshield combo? Just curious. Thanks. R ::003::
