Yesterday I rode my Super T 417 miles and I met with Mark. He is the owner od Madstad Engineering; he's a cool guy and a rider as well. Spent a couple of hours at his shop and if everything goes as planned, there will be a prototype bracket sent to me withing 2 weeks, assuming it works as desired, soon after that the ST bracket will be available for purchase.
I will post my observations and feed back. It was exciting to be part of the development of this much needed accesory, because the OEM shield produced a lot of buffeting and noise, I'm 6' 00" tall and otherwise the bike fit me very well.

Somebody had to do it!. I know, you guys can thank me later.
The Super T did awesome, mostly in super slab and with air temperatures of up to 105 F,(summer time riding in South Florida it's steamy), 2 thunderstorms the fan came on a couple of times but no trouble at all. I averaged @ 51 MPG and my speed was between 80 to 90 MPH. I was surprised at the good economy. I noticed that the speedo has an innacuracy of @ 5 to 7 MPH depending on the speed you travel. At 80 MPH my Zummo was indicating 75 MPH ??
Happy Sunday everybody!

Great news, I was the initial tester of the Robo Bracket on the 08 KLR. Mark makes a great product and if it works half as well as it did on the KLR it's going to be a great product. Please keep us in the loop on the development and your thoughts on the prototype. Welcome aboard.

Touratech has one on the market and so does WASP.

I have the WASP bracket and it works great. It will be interesting to see how they compare.

Waspwork mount is great. Huge range of motion and easy to adjust.

I have the Madstad on my Strom and it is great too. I am sure Mark will offer a great piece too for the XT.
Looking forward to seeing it.

I used the Madstad on my Versys and have the Wasp mount on the Tenere. Of the two I like Wasp's best. It has a good range of motion and is very easy to adjust.

Welcome to the Forum MOTOGONIA!!!!

I'm sure that Madstad will come up with a quality product. I had their brackets on a couple of my V-Stroms and was quite happy with them. For the SuperT, the Wasp bracket is really working out great!!!

:)

here is mine:

I just rode 2K miles with this prototype and it cuts the wind down 95%. The rest of the wind is coming from the sides, but overall, these brackets are great.

I just finished with all the testing for the prototype MADSTAD bracket, here are some of my observations and findings:
3250 miles, 25 days, city, highway, and gravel
The bracket performed very well, offering all the adjustments that we would expect, rigid, stable, well finished, very good fit.

The standard short shield mounted on the bracket did well, but as mentioned before by other members, lots of wind comes from the sides, and some from under the windshield.

Then we installed a solid plate that fits the bracket, closing the gap between the shield and the dashboard, that helped some.

Later we tried a taller windshield, and things improved. The best results came from installing the winglets that Yamaha offers and the taller windsield, then by keeping the hight just below the edge of the winglets and adjusting angle is when I can say the best protection was accomplished. Also notice that the bracket offers a solid round bar accross that is perfect for a GPS and other electronics.
I was very impressed with Mark's experties and proffesionalism. It's my understanding that the production of all these parts has began and it should be available soon. Here are some pictures. Thank you.

Hey Motogonia,
Thanks for your service! LOL
I'm looking forward to pricing of the Madstad...

It'd be nice if someone could do a comparison between the TT, Wasp and Madstad brackets, price, various features, adjustments, ease of installation, etc.

I strongly expect they all perform about the same and it will all come down to price.

The features appear to be similar. Workmsnship, quality of materials, and ease of installation may vary.

Madstad bracket takes 10 minutes to install with a phillips screwdriver. But best of all, it's made in the USA.

+1. The Madstad stuff is great! Made in America by a small businessman. Wish I could have tested Mark's design, but a torn rotator cuff repair job prevents that!

I bought an mra spoiler for the s10 and it arrived today. Boy putting all those little pieces together really sucked! Instructions about like Chinese math, and the thing just BARELY fits the stock screen. Havn't ridden with it yet. My point being, you probably went the right direction with the madstad
