those first 3 Japanese bikes new are at 7k or less in price , got my X for 6300 plus tax title etc ,so out the door for 8k. not street legal so no insurance required , but insured it anyway just in case. I intend to try and get it platted soon , we will see. Silver bullet , I was not trying to nail down any category to place the bikes in , when I was a teenager plated dirtbikes were enduro's ,now dual sports . some call the X a competition endure (auto correction will not let me spell endur o ) so honda has the X, RX, R …. the X is the trail bike of the bunch for sure . I had a dr650 before the tenere , great bike but heavy . and since the tenere is such a great street bike I really don't want another , so that's why i chose the X . if I get it platted im not planning on riding on the streets other than gravel and crossing the highways legally . if not platted then it will be for trail use only, and im ok with that. I tend to call dual sports enduro's out of habit I guess...
