I would not consider any new bike that doesn't have real cruise control! It's absolutely fantastic... I use mine ALL the time.

Curious to anyone who can clarify. I've only ridden the 2012 Gen 1, which is what attracted me to the Super Tenere...never ridden a Gen 2. Are the physical attributes of the bike the same? I've heard the handlebars are slightly different? True? I'm only asking for the clarification as I might end up driving a few hours to buy this 2014 and want to know beforehand as this could be a potential buy "sight unseen" per say. There are no 2014+ bikes for me to just go hop on and take long test ride.

The '14+ bar mounts are rubber dampened. I've heard the bars are shaped different, but it can't be much.

I looked for 6 or 8 months, the "deals'' fell through, I ended up buying a brand new 2016 es for $11700.00. Now I have broken it properly and should never have major problems. My thinking was after losing out on the deals with farkels the PO may have wrecked the bike already with improper break-in, oil, final drive maintenance, torque specs, spoke maintenance, etc. Am I spending money on it yes, but my risers are torqued, the brake and clutch line extensions are perfect and secure. Just my thinking, but at my age this is probably the final bike purchase of this type and I want it mint and I effin deserve it. Just my 2 cents. Sorry to ramble. Scott

A 2016 with $3000.00 in farkels for about 10500.00 but again who installed them? And blah, blah, blah I bought mine in MD about $1700.00 cheaper her than in CT. My wife and I left at 5 am picked it up my trailer had lunch and were home by early evening about 600 miles round trip.

Will be heading out Sat to pick up a 2013 with 11,800mi and lots of goodies already on the bike. Appears very well maintained and if it rides and checks out as good as the ad and owner say...I'll bring it back! For my price point I couldn't pass on this one, especially having the items I want already on the bike. I know my searches were for a generation 2, but this one is awesome and right at my budget.

Hoping everything pans out and I'll be posting pics soon instead of all these questions for you all LOL.
