Seems like college towns have been getting hit harder lately

It’s a pandemic , it’s doing it’s thing like all pandemics do . If it’s for real then eventually we will all get a dose of it . The numbers I gave for Hays county Texas are the numbers for my county . I get daily updates . The trend is better, lots of room in hospitals if needed. Population of the county is about 230000. I’m hoping it goes away, but I don’t think it will. Eventually we will except the risk and life will get back to normal. Just like we treat all the other man killers that stalk us. Remember everything we do is to slow the rate of infection so health care will not be over whelmed. If you can stop it then it’s not really a pandemic. You going to wear a mask the next 20 years?

I know its a real disease , what I was trying to convey is if its a real pandemic you can run but you cannot hide 'cause its never going away . and like the flu everyone will get a dose of it sometime in life, and they have a so called vaccine for the flu. that's all I was saying .

Today my cough has lessened and my headache was gone for the most part. I mowed grass earlier and it’s creeping back on.
I also got a call from the Health Dept., I say it was a call but it was more like an interrogation.
I was surprised of the list of symptoms this nurse read off to me, I mean you name it, you could have the virus if you feel abnormal at all.
This nurse also stressed the importance of quarantine and suggested Second Harvest Food bank can deliver food. Also, she suggested my wife get tested because if she tested later at the end of my quarantine then my quarantine would have to be extended if she came up positive, a month of isolation sounds maddening.
She went to get tested.

Yes, when it first started there were three symptoms. Now. . . . everything. . . . including diarrhea. And, around here. . . . our pollen count has been ridiculous. Which checks more than a few symptom boxes. Once again. . . . around here. . . . a lot of people are testing positive. . . . with no fever. It was always my understanding that fever was the first indicator that your body was fighting an infection. I'm not saying it isn't real. . . .obviously it is. But, there is nothing consistent about it. All we can do is take the precautions, hope for the best, and get the vaccine when it finally gets here.

A silver lining to COVID, is that with all of our masking, social distancing, and hand washing. . . . to prevent IT. . . . those same precautions will help prevent catching the "common flu".

Mask on? I saw the beginning, and assumed it was because she was refusing to wear one. It's becoming a thing around here. People "tired of wearing a mask". It definitely sucks, but not worth fighting about.

Well I heard about it today for the first time, supposedly a bunch of high school kids about 30 miles from here had a party where everyone is supposed to drink from everyone else’s glass, well now supposedly all 30 kids that were at the party are now sick with covid .

Actually old news. I don't know if it started with high schools or colleges, but they've been going on nation wide for awhile. I watched a video where there was a line of 20+ kids. First kid took a drink, turned around, gave it to the kid behind him who took a drink from the same cup. That kid turned, and gave it to the kid behind him. And so on, and so on. . . . Enough to make my hair turn grey.

to shoot someone with a Taser for not wearing a mask is brutality .... show me a law that says you have to wear a mask , should have a vote in some body politic and signed into law . a mandate to do something is an authoritarian act not based on law. not in America any way. common sense says to protect yourself , some will some will not . that is how freedom works , not always smart . common sense works for both sides if they would try it.

Common sense is not enough at least in the USA. I knew the first day this crap hit, we might as well give up on ever again being free to make our own minds up on safety, as safety will be forced on us for the rest of eternity. The virus never did worry me, the government crap is what worried me 6 months ago and still does. Every day I wonder if it's even worth getting out of bed if I'm forced to wear a mask just to walk outside my front door. Yes it's that stupid here. Even on the street at midnight with nobody whithin 1 block, law says you need a mask. Only for 30 days though. Sure! (30 day rule extended every 30 days for another 30 days every month from now til eternity, or cases drop below zero, whichever comes last).
