Ha! And I thought it was just me!
Yeah, I get this, too. I don't think it's wind, 'cuz I've had it happen with every helmet I've owned -- good and bad. Somebody earlier suggested engine vibration and I suspect that's it. I've tried all kinds of things to calm it down: Carmex, Blistex, hand lotion, etc. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. And when they do, it's usually just a short-term thing. Nothing seems to be a 100% cure.
What seems to work best for me is to try to ignore it. Yup, as annoying as it is, if I can get past 10 or 15 minutes of the urge to scratch my nose, it usually goes away. For hours, sometimes the rest of the day. Maybe my mom was right: "Just stop scratching it!"
