So has anyone determined if this free mod nets the same result as an ecu reflash?
NO CHANCE its just a cheap way of tricking the bike, like other cheap mapping mods where it just pumps more fuel in, if this was SAFE and not just a blag there would be no ECU flash ?????????????
i sympathize with all u tight fisted mothersssss lol, ur not living the dream like me ::025:: ::008::

No need for any sympathy. If people are enjoying how their bike responds to this cheap mod then great. If this is producing a fault code where Yamaha state still ok to ride I am fairly relaxed, and a lot better off too. Means the Wilbers shock is closer.

Not sure I really want to live your dream. Happy with mine. >:D

I thought the same thing until I tried the jump. Now, post jump, I can't keep the front end down on this big Yamaha beast. It paws at the sky like some nitrous fueled KTM on meth. In fact, post jump, I own R1s in the straights. The ladies know what's what. They hear this jumped beast coming and they start fronting, stripping out of their clothes lickity split to show me all of those naughty lady bits. It's just the nature of this jumped beast. Too bad for you - the jump is greater than the flash!

No remorse here chaps, there's no proof yet this isn't causing any damage, Has anyone with the flash done it yet, and does it add to the flash or not ?

Not starting a fight, but what PROOF do you have the flash isn't causing damage either? Do you have dyno charts that show proper AFR at ALL points on your bike? Of course, this would need to be without your PCV+AT.

I would guess that if you have reflashed your bike it will already be running at least as well and probably better than with this mod. As you have the PCV as well, I reckon I are spot on already.

Matt

As mentioned elsewhere, no way 15bhp

Seeing that you have flashed your ECU, how about you put a fuse jumper in the clutch switch and tell us if the bike feels any different, in the name of scientific research, of course ::008::

Will be looking to do this as soon as my bike turns up.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the required connectors and a bar-mountable switch that will fit on the Tenere (in the UK)

Will be looking to get a re-flash at some point, but this will do for now, especially if I can have it easily switchable.

Dyno graphs in each gear would be nice, and even better runs at differing throttle openings to check AFR, I would guess it just runs a "straight through" map with no restrictions, like some other bikes nuetral maps which have this affect.

No need for a switch. I felt it was needed at first but I have found that if I drive normal that my fuel usage is about the same.
I truly believe that this mode does not change any fuel mixture. Just removes the throtle dampening. I get the same fuel usage at 75mph (gps) with or without the jumper so no need to have a switch. I may unplug the jumper for hardcore offroad use though as I like the T mode for that and with the jumper in there is no T mode.

Just use a mini fuse, it fits right in.. no need for a switch, you can just pull it out when you stop. Let us know what your impressions.

I will order the connectors and a switch from Eastern Beaver, just so I can use T mode without having to pull the fuse. Should be a simple wiring job. I may also use a relay from the headlight circuit to activate it as mentioned elsewhere, as this will terrain the original function of the system.

Psst...got bad news. I ride a black on now and my wife a blue one. Just got off her bike 10 minutes ago. Without a doubt the blue is way faster and smoother than the black.

Of course the fact her bike has 7K more miles on it probably accounts for all that difference.

Still have to try out this jumper thing. I stuck a fuse in the tank bag and should get a chance over the next 3 days while I'm out riding with the other S10 guys in West Virginia.
