Hi, I am new to the forum and I have owned my Tenere for 2 months. This is my first post. I am looking to install Pro Taper bars but they do not come with the threaded insert available in the stock bars. Where can I source the inserts for the Pro Taper?

+1 for Sup-Ten's suggestion. The install process may be a PIA but you are rewarded with a strong, secure mount for bar ends or hand gaurds.

I used the G2 ergo and couldn't be happier. Fit was spot on and installation was a snap. I went with the stainless steel for the added weight to the bar end.

Actually tmsmith brings up a good point. Order one of the steel options. The nylon ones seem to contribute to some unwanted vibration according to some. I ordered steel as well.

I have Pro Taper bars and used expanding bolts to fit the handguards. They look like this and are called Rawlbolts in the UK. Fitting is simple as anything. You need to put the bar end bolt into the Rawlbolt before inserting into the bar. Expand the end just enough to get some friction against the inside of the bar, then insert it and simply tighten up. Sorted.

Neat idea to pin them in. That saved having to single point an external thread and having to tap the bars themselves. Cool.
