This has been a learning curve! I paid £120 EACH for just two - didn't know what the issue was at first as I don't have a garage and didn't fancy stripping the bike down in the snow so went to dealer - that's Yamaha direct pricing.
Thanks to you guys I've just ordered 2 from the USA for $80 including post. Don't need them [yet] but as I only replaced the front two I'm sure that it will make sense to get them in.
Now just need some decent weather - more snow this weekend...

LOL Nelso, I probably wouldn't have posted if I'd realized that the OP was in the UK. For you guys that live outside the US, I don't know how you can keep a bike on the road with the costs of components. I was talking with a Canadian on another forum about a USB outlet for his bike, and what cost 14 bucks here in the US was $75.00 north of the border. Ouch.

We get scammed mate. I appreciate that your 320million people dwarfs our 24million so they'll sell a few more but the damn things are made in Japan and shipped. WTF.

edit: Just bought two from the RMSTATOR guy on Amazon. two coils + rip-off shipping is still cheaper than half of one here

Welcome to the Euro way.. 1 Euro = $1.23 U.S. Dollar.. So it must be taxation? All i know is you're getting butt hammered.
But you guys in OZ have never complained when i sell you something on Ebay and i mean never.

Most likely because your eBay price will still be way cheaper than anything we get here retail

If you really want me to rant try talking about car garages/dealers in the UK.
I know folk that have paid crazy labour costs at garages and then been told that their brake discs cost £200 when Ive bought the same discs for my car off ebay for £50
Mmmmmmm

I bought mine quite cheap from a place in Cardiff that used to advertise them on ebay. I just searched ebay but couldn't find them. If I can find an old receipt/name of the shop I'll post it on here
yes its about 15 miles from me they are about £50 each

Found the box and receipt!
Cardif Motorcycles Ltd, Cardiff CF11 8JQ

The receipt says Yam Xt1200Z ABS/USB 23P1 22010 Ignition Coil Jap

The box says

Tour Max High Performance Equipment 713418 Plug Hole Ignition Coil IGN-218P Made in Japan

The bike was very much better for fitting them.
Just got 4Tourmax of eBay at £51 each.

Local mechanic trying to remove 2 seized in place...

I did buy some Tourmax coils a couple of years ago, and they were the same as the OEM ones (with the same markings and mitsubishi logo) that were in there from the factory production.
Are the coils from rmstator also mitshubishi branded?
Are these coils only used in our Super Tenere, maybe someone knows that they are also used in other vehicle?

Has anyone bought cheap coils from China… Saw some tonight on EvilBay… set of four coils for £62.
Got to be worth a punt for that money surely?

Depends on your budget and expectations. I wouldn't trust them to last as long as OEM (or even close) but if that's what you can afford, go ahead and try. Personally, I am a "cry once" sort of guy. I'd rather bite the bullet and pay more for the peace of mind than to roll the dice and possibly save a money.

Howdy Folks, can those of you that have tried aftermarket coils sticks recommend some brands that you like?
