Iowa checking in. If the bike is 1-5 years old, it's $20/year. 6+ years it's $10.

Where I live in southern Ontario, Canada, motorcycle registration is $42 per year. In northern Ontario, it is $21 per year. I have never quite figured that one out. All vehicle registrations are twice as much in the south as in the north. Still beats the registration fees in Oz though. Wow!

$65 here in New Jersistan.

Was $32.50 up until a few years ago, then they realize that just wasn't "enough" and doubled it for fun.

We pay $424.00 in Queensland Australia
sorry to sound like a re-tard.
:)
but do you mean insurance, or license plate registration?

If you're after insurance, comprehensive (fire, theft vandalism, animal hit) plus basic is $350/yr. Registartion (plates) is $40.
My basic insurance on the regular scoots (vfr, cbr900rr, dl650) is $70/yr each, plus plates

Without digging the paperwork out, registration in Washington is around $48...OTOH, insurance is pushing $500, full coverage & low deductibles.

I'm not.

Of course, insurance is additional. Full coverage on my bikes as a group is a little over $500.00.

Sorry again. :-[

Ah, well, insurance is a whole other issue here in the People's Republic of Ontario. The cost varies tremendously depending on who the carrier is, as well as the age and driving record of the rider. In my case, I pay around $1200 a year for full coverage. Some young studs are prevented from riding altogether by the staggering premiums they must pay.

PA is a cheap place for registrations. When I lived in Connecticut and Maine, it was a whole lot higher, as registration was a major source of the State revenue. I think my pickup is the most expensive here, at around $55.00

I live in a fairly rural area, so that changes the insurance rate quite a bit. We have to worry more about deer and turkeys plus the occasional grain or milk truck than cars. I'm sure that has a bearing as well. Deer/turkeys are what they are, but compared to hordes of cars, all rushing to get to work or home while talking on their phones, eating sandwiches, having a bowl of soup, and reading a magazine while doing their makeup, are far more hazardous. Things don't go missing around our properties either. Could be all of the farmers shoot varmints? Anyway, I'm sure that has a lot do contribute as well.

As far as turkeys go: one attempted to fly in front of my pickup a few years back, didn't calculate trajectory well and ended up hitting the upper center of the windshield. By the time I realized he was there, there was nowhere to go. I was thinking: "Here we go!" expecting to have a turkey as a passenger at that point. The windshield held, off the poor bird went, spiraling away over the cab and into the trees, leaving an airborne trail of feathers and turkey parts. I wouldn't have wanted my helmet to reprise that role! ???

They sure like you. They must be counting on you personally to top off the coffers...

They're trying to do that here as well; maybe another planet? There is no escape. there are lots of folks in positions of power that feel the rest of us need to foot the bill for everything. Of course, it doesn't apply to them.

"nothing is impossible for the man that doesn't have to do it himself"

So hop to it and be happy, because they said so. Now!
