I recently purchased a olympia ag5 jacket, it has a zip out quilted liner, zip out rain jacket the can be worn under or over the jacket, and the jacket itself is Kevlar mesh. When everything is zipped out it breathes well. Dress for the slide is my motto. I can't imagine not wearing everything all the time. Even a 10mph slap to the pavement without a helmet will due damage to the brain. I have a young daughter and have every intention of playing with her everyday till I die at a ripe old age. Plus I'm in the fitness biz and need my body to function at 100% all the time

I have a friend that rides a moped and he is always giving me crap as im.fully geared up and he wears shorts, tank top, flip-flops, and no helmet. I tell him moped or motorcyle 30mph is 30mph. I'll take my chances over his all day long.

For me it all depends on the season and reason. Winter commuting mostly tech jeans, tech shoes, jacket, gloves and the helmet of course.
As the summer approaches, I'm downgrading the protective gear, till I reach swimmshorts, T shirt, sneakers and jet helmet.

If I go for a ride outside the city, I'm gearing up fully no matter the season.

If I'm going off roading, on top of the full gear, I wear an armor vest, armor underpants, knee protectors.

I ride in California and blistering Arizona and still wear full mesh gear with body armor. Full Gortex gear certainly helps with the breathability. I am an RN BSN and know all to well the implications of falling off your bike and being rushed into surgery. Seen it many times. I will not be part of that statistic of little or no protection. To many A**holes on the road.

Can't upload them now but got pictures of there proof of protection. Was ejected off the bike around 50 mph and only road rash was where went through a good pair of gloves on right pinky knuckle and had a rug burn on right fore arm from the friction on inside of jacket. Just about every inch of my gear had signs of road rash. When er Doctor took off my gear she was amazed at the lack of injuries.
Same here, ejected off the hood of a car. Wear full protection year round. Doctor could not believe I was in a car crash for the lack of visual bruises. Mind you had a bruise that did pop up several hours later that encircled my entire lower back and well into my left but cheek wihin a couple of days. (guess how I landed?)

APE: Always Properly Equipped. This means when moving my bikes around the lawn or driveway I do not put on all the gear all the time.

But for gear I use MotoPort mesh suit, Held something or other with all kinds of super duper protection, Schuberth C3, and Sidi whatever they call them. Depending on the neighborhood I carry a P99.

I will soon buy some sort of airbag jacket and a Veskimo gizmo for the long rides south. If the weather is too extreme I stay home or if I need to cover a long distance when the temps are extreme I ride all night, preferably behind large trucks.
