Missing man formation?
I don't recall the announcements saying they were going to fly a missing man formation. If it is I suppose it's to honor those who have been claimed by covid. It might also be the angle I took the photo from but it didn't look like one as I was observing the flyover.

Looks like it could be missing man formation. Not unusual with four planes and the right side longer than the left (seen from pilot's L/R) .

I took this photo. Blue Angels, 06 May 2020, over McKinney, Texas, headed south. They will make a west bound turn over to Frisco, TX, then south and circle Dallas, then circle Fort Worth, then land at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, TX.

I think they changed their exit strategy. When they went over the south end of Ft Worth, they left heading east. Don't know why.

I'm not greedy, I'll just take 1% of the cost of one of those fly overs.
I don't know how much fuel the fighters hold, but the air refuelers I worked on hold 30,000 gallons of jp8. I have no idea what a gallon of jp8 costs, but standing under the wing while filling the tanks with 200,000 pounds of fuel would make the plane would slowly settle down changing one's headroom significantly.
All military troops have certain training requirements they have to remain current on in order to stay in their job classification. When you see a flyover the pilots, among others are using that activity to keep current on those requirements.

JP-8 is the military grade of commercial airline Jet A1, with the additives Paletes3 mentioned. Those two, kerosene, and diesel are very close.

Some places run de-tanked jet fuel in diesel ground equipment and I've known a few airport people to steal it for their diesel trucks. It runs OK in the older ground support equipment, but is "dirtier" and doesn't have the lubricity or some other properties so is bad for modern diesel engines.

As for proficiency, the demo pilots sure don't need it but with all the airshows shut down, they had the availability.

Those planes sure are purty.

Here's a few health workers that the flyovers honour.

Many of the flyovers, including the one over my house, were not by demo pilots. The one in Idaho had a mix of guard and active duty pilots. A-10s and if I remember right F-15s They likely included an in air re-fueling helping to keep both the tanker and the fighter pilots current.
