Honda seems to know how to get a lot of fun out of not a lot of rpm! Dirt Dad's GoldWind redlines at 6000rpm, the NC750X at 7500. Funny it seems like it rolls on forever in each gear. Not as in high revs but the motor makes rpm so slow and steady. Something to be said for slow revving torquey engines. Pretty sure the S10 falls into that category too. The NC seems really happy between 4000-6000rpnm. I find myself hanging down a gear to keep the revs at 4000 although it's just as happy if I shift it up. The motor absolutely purrs. With a solid 25-30mph headwind I was clipping along happily at 80 with plenty left so it's not lacking power. You guys are going to have to bare with me a bit, I am just impressed with this bike.

My wife has a 21 nc750x with the dct. She absolutely loves it. I haven't ridden it yet so I'm glad to see others with good reviews as well :)
You need to ride it. If it's the DCT put it in sport mode. Find someplace with twisty roads, the bike will surprise you. In a good way!

Houston we have a problem.

Seems every time I head out to the shop I am gravitating to this bike. Not to say I'm loving the 890 Adventure any less just the NC seems to be the bike of choice. Something about the character of the engine combined with the way it is geared makes for a very enjoyable ride. Not to say it's slow, it's going faster than the 890 in any given gear at equal rpm. 890 is still quicker, as it should be with a bigger higher revving engine.
I have a hard time accepting the thought of the NC replacing the 890 as the bike of choice. It could happen.

I have my ST, an H-D, and the NC750X automatic. I record all my back roads rides. Surprisingly to me, I ride the quickest average speed on the NC. I'm sure it's due to the automatic transmission.

I spent my life working with horses. It was always interesting how one horse could be working so hard going fast and another horse could be galloping along with an easy stride going so much faster. The NC is certainly a bike that looks to be slow but runs fast and easy.
