Yes to both of you. It does come stock and it needs to be removed to instal the Givi mount or to put on the Yamaha top case.

Thanks for the info. I just haven't got around to putting the top box on yet.

I'm hoping to get my box this week and will try to get if fixed in place. I spent weeks trying to decide on which size and finally opted for the 42litre over the 58 as I really only use the bike for commuting.
