Hey, y'all.
New to this forum due to my growing interest in acquiring a used YST.
I sold my trusty KLR 650 3 years ago after a decade of trusty and dutiful service in the Arizona desert. Been riding a Kawasaki Concours in the interval, and now that I have relocated to the wilds of west Texas/SE New Mexico I need to get back onto something I can really use.
The KTM Adventure and Super Enduro made me long for more than the modest 40-ish horsepower from the KLR, and the recent entries into the market formerly held by the BMW boxers finally were more than I can resist.
The Honda Africa is cool, and has its merits, but I have finally decided the Yamaha is the bike for me.
(I like the idea of shaft drive over a chain, prefer larger fuel capacity, and I want cruise control.)
All that being said, I will be perusing this forum (and others) for useful and vital information.
I decided that my hatred for electronic gadgets and gizmos will have to take a back seat to my desire for cruise control, so I will be looking to purchase a 2014 or later Super Tenere when the right bike and the right price happens at the right time.
Thank you, in advance, to all of the fine folks here willing to share their wisdom, experience and insight.
Y'all be cool!
