While riding my 2015 S10 I hit the kill switch at highway speed. When I reset the bike the 4 way flashers went on. I stopped the bike and reset, and restarted the bike but the flashers stayed on. I removed the battery connections, waited and reinstalled, still flashing! I finally removed the fuse to stop the flashing but now have no turn signals. Any ideas?

Ummm - You've actually come up with something new!

It's a pretty simple circuit so I'd start by looking at the mechanical switch possibly breaking in the right switch cluster.

As Checkwrecks says it has to be in the switch somewhere, odd on such a new bike though

Sounds like the flasher relay might have an issue.

Pretty sure 2015's don't use a flasher relay anymore, all controlled by the ECU.

Pressing the flasher switch on the right handle bar wouldn't work?

That switch is very difficult to find especially when you don't know where it is at. I learned the hard way when I accidentally bumped it at night. A CHP stopped to see if I needed help and provided light until I could find the switch on the lower part of the right control.

When I got the new bike I can't tell you how many times by habit I hit the flashers switch by habit, trying to push the starter.

I might have been the first person to document adding flashers to the Yankee S10.
I did it the second I saw the 2013 FJR switch cluster at a Yamaha ride day.

Ironically, I didn't care about the flashers. I wanted that awesome kill\start switch!

Anyways, the switch cluster also had a hazard button so I wired it up to work.

Man, wasn't that like 5 years ago?
It's around here somewhere.

So it looks like Hazards come on Yankee S10's now WreckerChecker? :)

The flasher button on the Gen2 bike is right where the starter button was on the Gen1 bikes. Yankee or otherwise.

Seems like I was asleep for a long time. :)

They always invent stuff while I'm asleep!
Every day I am amazed at what happened while I snoozed.

Thought he was referring to the 4-way flashers on the lower rightside controls.

Right - Which was why I mentioned constantly turning on the flashers when I was trying to press the starter going from the Gen1 to the Gen2 bike.

Between you and EricV, I was another one who took the plunge! Except I wired up mine to work with the key off, and I only really used them once...

I wired the flashers up less than "straight forward".

The flasher button requires me to turn on the turn signal, either right or left, for it to be functional. I basically used the flasher button to bridge both left and right blinkers.
Works just fine, of course. But I don't think I have ever actually used them.

As for that slick combination Kill\start button, I still LOVE it.

Although recently, I've had to sometimes hit the start button several times to get the starter to turn\engage. I think I hear a sound like a starter solenoid click just inside my right side cover, even when the starter doesn't fire. Do we have starter solenoids that are remote mounted from the actual starter?

Yes, Snake, your starter solenoid is just above the battery.

Thanks!

Think I'll get me a new one and start the process-of-elimination there.

I might have been napping, but I don't seem to remember any complaints on the solenoids.
I could likely recite EVERY issue that a Tenere could remotely expect to experience. (At least every issue documented on this forum)

Haven't heard of any either, but fairly easy to check if you have an OHM meter. First, make sure the battery connections, ground connection, starter motor connection, and both solenoid connections are tight. If they are, then turn your bike on and depress starter button. If you still only hear a click but no starter engagement, keep the button depressed and check for a continuity reading across the two 10mm nuts on the top of the solenoid. If that circuit stays open, the solenoid is your problem.

If you're brave, and you don't have the means to check the solenoid, you can use a piece of heavy wire or a couple of screwdrivers and bridge the gap of the two nuts on top of the solenoid, and your engine should turn over (key on)That at least, eliminates your starter motor.
