Hey Scott & Cycledude. Thanks for the replies. Scott, you have a point....but am counting on more experienced riders to point an old-timer in the right direction. So far, people who have taken the time to hear me out, have steered me towards the Wing for two-up ridingon pavement, as you did.....for a final bike. Thanks. Cycledude, my local Yamaha dealer allowed me to test ride a leftover 2012 for only 15 minutes. I realized I could handle it, so I then ordered the gen 2 2014 and waited 6 months. No regrets. This base model is as reliable a bike as I have ever had.....and extremely capable, especially for some of the unpaved roads down here. I can’t comment on other brands. I didn’t want a Harley due to there being only one dealer in the country. Yamaha has four. After all the research I did, the S10 came way out on top. Kinda like a survey. This is how I learn. I’m connected only with the Harley guys down here, but they gotta have that macho Image. They sure suffer for it in the reliability dept., though. I just follow them when we do trips. That way I have my S10 reliability and the sweet sound of a pack of Harley’s ahead of me. Will ride them both when I move back up north. Thanks again. Over and out. Scott
