Will know tomorrow. The missus gets her call schedule for October. Are we looking at non ATV roads?
I will be routing county one laner paved/gravel roads through the middle of nothingness (like shown in the video), thus avoiding the trail access fees. The HM folks call them "System Connectors" on their maps and they are HM designated Green (easiest) trails. Again I emphasize they are
county roads (read all access legal to
licensed vehicles w/o permit) .
But in reality in that part of the country there is no such thing as a non ATV road...ATV/UTVs are ridden
everywhere including brief bouts on main state highways and the public/law enforcement accepts it within reason. Lots of the trail system overlaps and crosses these roads and they see as much ATV traffic as cages.
We will be in the heart of the eastern tracts of the Hatfield and McCoy trail system (Pinnacle Creek, Indian Ridge & Pocahontas). There are roads/trails of all descriptions/skill levels available but an access permit ($50 for non-residents) may be involved if you are planning on using the official trail system.
I guess the bottom line is that your missus would need a permit. More info here:
