So there is no confusion about what I'm proposing, here is a typical ride that is available to licensed mocycles without a permit.

I'm not sure this is what you gents are looking for but the video is typical of what is available without fees. I simply cannot belief how much the area has changed since the enduro days of my misspent youth. Many dirt roads have now been paved and of those that remain, the trails authority and coal companies have sucked up all but a few.

I rode 35 miles thru the heart of the H&M trails eastern portions from Bramwell to Mullens, WV including Windmill, Peters and Clarks Gaps.

Looking great! Sorry for dropping off a bit there - I was on work travel, and don't have access to the forum. Can't wait!!

I can't begin to tell you how much fun this ride is going to be...I guess you will just have to make your way here to see for yourself!

It looks like Google maps dropped some of the painted route??, but the driving directions appear to be intact. It is all one loop and it ROCKS!

Awesome! Looks like the area I know as Wagon Wheel. Haven't been to that area since I rode my KTM up and down the stair steps. Going up was fine, going down scared the #$@% out of me. I'm confident to say I'm not up to riding the S10 either direction on that play area. I also remember that area as the only place I've seen young women using bikinis as their only protective gear on their ATVs.

Cool!!!! That is a fantastic area to ride. Great job route planning.

stairsteps were a mess last time i was there. Pretty much impossible to ride. Sad, actually.

Almost sounds as though you had doubts...now where is that 'I told ya so' emoticon? ;)

By Sunday evening, I will have re-ridden the entire route just to err on the side of caution. Yaahooooo  ::26::

No real doubts. As a WV resident I know you've got a lot to work with out there. More than a passer-through like me is aware of. I had nearly forgotten about that Pinnacle Creek area, in fact when Pinnacle Creek was mentioned recently I was racking my brain trying to remember why that was so familiar. Good and bad memories from riding around there. Bad was related to equipment issues, good was from the endless trails around there.

This photo is the last time I rode Wagon Wheel. That little girl by my side is now a rising junior in college. Long time ago.

Good stuff. I'm ready to go back. ::012::

Have a new and improved suggested multi-surface route based on further scouting and past rides, but have not Google mapped it. Dirt Dad planted a seed that sprouted. Will try to get 'er done.

Itenerary...ride, camp, eat and repeat! ;D

My favorite kind of itinerary!

Looking forward to the next iteration!
