Verdict is out on what? ::) You'll explode before it does. My cross plane crank R1 runs smooth and fast and sounds fantastic. You worry too much.
Well you must be used to the rattling sounds. I heard a R1 the other day and it sound the sane way, rattling. No I am not worried just used to a smoother sounding engine. Which btw was always a Suzuki which I used to think were excessively noisey until I bought this thing. I Wear ear plugs all the time and the S10 engine can be heard over that. I have had total strangers comment on the noise of this engine. I am real happy I bought one but wishing the engine was a wee bit quieter. Just sharing my observation not condeming a brand. A ducati is the only other brand that is noisier.

Personally think the bike is quite smooth now, especially if cruising around 60mph. Yes still have 3k to 3.5k grumble under load. I rode my friend's triumph tiger 885 quit a few times and that was a loud engine.

Y'all are cracking me up :D Noisy?! Try coming from a thumper with direct mounted air filter and aftermarket exaust. How about a Harley? Yes, if you're used to inline fours or purley touring machines, maybe this makes a few more noises, but I can think of a lot worse. I really don't understand all the hand wringing. Did you know what you were buying before making the plunge? This isn't some wall flower of a machine made for only cruising on glassy smooth interstates or nice, gradually sweeping corners. 'It's a jack of all trades; master of none.'

The rougness with accel in the 3000rpm range?...yeah it's there, but far from a show stopper for me. That's about the farthest thing from my mind while tearing-up mountain roads, moving nimbly at slow speed, putting some 'stank' to the rear wheel to dispense with some cager thinking he's a pro gran prix driver, soaking-up bumps that would scare me sh@tless on most other bikes....I could go on, and I will with one more example. I was going through a farmiliar section of road last night and didn't realize a section of it had been torn-out in prep for new pavement...no signs...nothing! Anyway, they had the gravel dumped, but far from smoothed-out..pretty deep still with small mounds. I went though at about 80 clicks while the front-end dance a bit, but otherwise NO DRAMA. That's what this bike is all about..unflappable in the face of almost anything you throw at it. I'm sure most of you will acknowledge this about the S10, so why let a few extra noises or vibs from the big bang twin turn you off? If you wanted it for just touring on the interstate then maybe you have the wrong machine.

oh that video was great! I was looking for the guy's reaction! hahah ::025::
His reaction was invisible.

The real reaction was that sinking feeling you get in your heart when you know you screwed up and it cost you a lot of money. He was probably also trying figure out a quick fix (douse everything with WD-40?) so he could unload the thing and get his money back without the new owner finding out before he got the bike home.

I ALMOST feel sorry for him.......naah.

I too have the tractor sound in the 3000-3500 range. I had it on the DL1000 too until I had the dealer add 3% fuel at10% throttle and 7% fuel at 25% throttle. It got rid of it. If I had to guess, this is a factory set lean area. Just a guess as I haven't looked at factory fuel maps.

I have heard the sound, click click,
I found the noise inside of front fork in the left side (only)

It happens when i ride by imperfections of the road

Is it normal ? or a problem ?

Yeah, I really do not understand any of this. Is this typical American, never saw this on other forums.

You are analyzing the bike to death! There is a saying that you never see a motorcycle at a shrink. Now I understand why. You put the bike in therapy, while it should be you.

I wonder how you guys were ever able to marry / have a long time relationship. Do you analyze your partner in such a way too?

If it was Lobo's post that got you worked up, he's from Brazil.

As to your rant on us Americans, we take quite a little criticism for many things...perhaps justified. I tend to let it go. However, I'm bothered that you've brought our families in on this particular post. It really wasn't needed to make your point. There are so many awesome stories in here about how wonderful and supportive our spouses are. To suggest that we don't deserve them is insulting. I urge you (and everyone) to keep our families well on the the other side of the line of any issues that you (and everyone) have with the American (or other) members of this forum. Thx.

welcome aboard logo. Can't help you out on the noise you are hearing (there are a lot of them on the SuperT).

Please post an intro over in the "Member intros" section of the forum.

Thanks!

between worry about noises, vibrations, ecu reflashes, powercommanders, autotunes, maps, posting dyno runs, after market mufflers blah, blah, blah, its starting to sound just like an HD forum. All we need are some after market cams to complete the picture. ;D

:D :D Don't get me started >:D If I ever get to work today -I store my bike in one of the garages during winter- I'm gonna give my S10 a big hug and sing some Billy Joel to it.

My bike is stock with 9300 miles so far, and I like it just the way it is..........it has personality. Like all the bikes I've owned , it is not perfect but sure is a lot of fun to ride.

::021:: ::021:: ::021:: My exact thoughts also on this and most other boards.
