I’ve never had the issue but when I came home from an extended work trip to NZ I tried to start the bike and the battery was flat … well it went flat in about 3.621 seconds ???
I brought a new battery because the old one had been in there since new (let’s say 5 years) … replaced the YTZ12S with a 14S … same size but more cranking amps …
Fitting was relatively straight-forward … checked and then punched the starter … and punched and punched and punched … until the battery was getting fairly flat :
Of course I tried the normal fix of WOT setting … So the next day with a fresh battery … I tried the other options including turning the key on with the kill switch off !!!
Still no friggin go … back on the charger and back to the forum
Further reading confirmed that 4 owners had reported success by pulling the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) fuse … pumping the cylinders dry and starting normally …
There are now 5 owners who can report the success of this strategy ::026::
