Used my old bolts. They fit perfect. Easy to deal with. The post is threaded so you are dealing with the annoying nut inside the terminal. Two of the folded edges on the terminal connection have to be flattened to make it work. Used vice grips.

Hopefully you meant to say because the post is threaded you are not dealing with that annoying nut inside the terminals ?

Took out the stock 12s battery that came with my 2018 Tenere new and installed a 14s battery that I had leftover from my previous 2013 Tenere, the 14s was bought new in 2018. Both batteries seem to test about the same with my cheap load tester but my Tenere seems to start significantly better with the 14s battery.
We are hoping to ride to Alaska again this year and I most likely will be buying a new battery before that trip.

Charging the battery yes but jump starting I kinda doubt that would work.
On other forums I have seen some little devices that attach to the battery posts and make it a little easier to attach jumpers without them coming unhooked.
Posted the wrong one. I’ve used this one several times without taking the side panel off 1683135676898.png

Well I wound up ordering the Scorpion Stinger FFTZ 14s-FP Lithium battery and charger that Tenere Guy recommended. Total price delivered from www.batterstuff.com was $243.95
I used a little black Silicone RTV to hold the nuts in place worked great. Used it for the first time yesterday and that was the first time I ever heard a Tenere being started without what sounded like a half dead battery !!!
Cheap Voltmeter shows 13-13.2 volts when they key is turned on, drops to about 12.6 when cranking, shows 13-14.4 while driving.
So far I’m very happy !

I have had a hard start situation or two. It is my belief they occur when our battery’s get just a little off their game. Our stators seem to charge on the low side. 13.8 volts. This is also true of Japanese cars. They recharge a battery much more slowly if jumped compared to American cars.

I got an Amazon Lithium. tempted fate started my bike, it was strong. Cut it off And attempted to restart. A hard start situation occurred. To my surprise the new battery powered threw and started the bike. It took lot more cranks but got it done. A standard battery would not have gotten it done. Been there done that. So far pleased. Lithiums seem to have compatible characteristics with our bike. They recharge faster with our anaemic alternators. That is good. They also like a lower voltage charging compare to normal batteries.

Glad to hear that you're happy with it. I was wondering if you had tried it out yet. Was going to message you today to find out.
That price does include a new charger too, correct?

Yes price included the new charger. But today I got email from them they have a Memorial sale going 15% off anything .
The new lithium battery makes me smile every time I start the Tenere, it finally cranks like it’s supposed to instead of sounding like the battery is half dead !
