That's interesting since everyone has been saying the 750 lb/in OEM spring is way too light. Do you know how much installed preload is on your spring?
I don't know what to say about that. I could not get proper preload with the stock shock either.

With the Penske and 700 lb/in spring I have:

Rider Sag: 57mm
Static Sag: 5mm

Its hard to compare spring rates between different motorcycles because the swing arm ratios can vary so much but I thought a 750 lb spring rate was a bit heavy for the Tenere....until I found I had the same sag rates that others were reporting. I don't know if anyone has actually tested the OEM spring but at this point it appears that it probably is not a 750 lb spring or needs a lot more installed/initial preload.

I don't know what the stock spring rate is ACTUALLY. Penske had the whole stock shock assembly for mockup. They ran it on the dyno. I imagine they checked spring rate. I don't have the information, and really, it is irrelevant. What mattters is getting the PROPER spring rate for each application.

On the ORDER FORM, there are spaces to fill out rider weight, luggage weight, passenger weight (if applicable). With this information, Penske and Stoltec will select the spring rate. If you cannot get proper rider and static sag, they will swap. There is also the option to select your own spring rate. If you choose this, and it isn't "right", it is on you to pay to get it fixed.
