Hi,

I just wonder if there is any update info for this Givi's new Trekker Outback side cases.
available in the US anytime soon?

How about waterproof test, Kevs?

I consider to buy either this Givi or Trax. I have Givi's topcase, so Givi is good match,
but Trax come with inner bag, so both attractive.

Givi Italia website shows the picture of Super Tenere with this new side cases,
then I hope this will be available also in the US at competitive price.
Hi Taka JPN,

Maybe you wana email Givi US for enquiries?

So far so good on the water test, been thru days of heavy thunderstorms(usual weather in Sg), no seepages at all.

Recently "slow"dropped my bike onto the right whilst trying to maneuver in slow speed along my multi-storey car park to avoid a reversing lorry.

The bike was rested on the right pannier, no scratches and Im fine.
Rack structure and integrity was affected also.

Friday the 13th here in Sg.

Cheers! ::003::

You can buy it straight from Italy for a better price than from the US, where euro products tend to be pricey.

The 19% VAT won't be charged to customers outside the EU.

I would check into that very carefully. I ordered side cases from Tosco/Diapason in Italy and was charged very large chunk of change for shipping. There was also customs duty which wasn't much, but was an extra hassle. Could be that a larger company like Givi has different courier arrangements that cost less, but just though I'd pass along my experience.

VAT is sales tax and customers outside the EU don't have to pay it. It is completely unrelated to customs and shipping charges.

I've never dealt with Motostorm but I have heard good things from people who have. They also state their shipping charges up front, so the only unknown factor would be customs costs on the reciipient's side.

This is a 38/47 combo with 52lit Trekker on top.

Nice combo.

just a small POV, try not to let the cover hang over just by the rubber cords.

it may look sturdy but actually its not and it may break due to stress.

For the right side case cover which will knock onto the any mounted aftermarket top case, I still suggest to release the catch on the end and then secure it back standing open instead.
Closing will be just a reversal of procedure I'd mention in my posts earlier.

Does anyone encounter this?

The RHS pannier when mounted, the safety indication feature for securing of the pannier to rack, on mine the rear(near to tail of bike) indicator would show half red half green(green means secured).
But the RHS pannier is mounted sturdily to the rack.

This only happens when I use correct pannier per side.
I did a swap using left pannier on RHS rack, the indicators were showing fine green and vice versa on right pannier to LHS rack...

Hmmm.... :-[

Emailed Givi Italy and they hv forward to their technical department thus pending reply from them for now...

I don't recall mentioning VAT in my post. I was merely cautioning about the shipping charges, which ended up being much more than VAT would have been. Good to know they show shipping rates upfront.

I'm at the AIMExpo in Orlando, Fl and Givi has them in there booth. I did a quick look today... had to work the booth we are in... I must say I like them. I now have the standard Givi Trekkers and well like them too. Hmmm might need to switch up however. They do take a different mounting bar as they attach more rigidly. Gonna go back and get some photos tomorrow. I hope to get time to post them tomorrow too.
However the first showing of the movie, "Why we ride" is tomorrow evening. Gotta see that! A 12 hour work day and the movie I may want to sleep!?!?!?

I'm planning to be at AIMExpo on Friday and want to check them out. Do you know if GIVI is offering special show pricing? Are they taking orders?

Just an FYI since I couldn't find this measurement anywhere on the forum. The Givi trekker outback cases in the 37L left / 48L right configuration measure 40.5" across on the back. 20" to the left from center and 20.5" to the right. I installed these on my S10 recently and so far so good. The 48L is wide enough for a my Neotec helmet which is a definite plus. Total width in the rear is about the same width as my handlebar with barkbuster storm guards so no complaints here.

I'm shopping around for a set of 37L Outbacks, bought the mounts from Revzilla has anyone in the States dealt with a shop called Motorama from Italy? $602 shipped, it's the best price I've seen.

I was checking out motostorm but motorama has them beat by $80. That is one hell of a deal.

Yes the price was the best but mine got lost by the US Postal noservice, not Motorama's fault everything shipped to the US just fine, now filing a claim with PayPal to get refund and try ordering again I assume some postal worker is riding around with my pannier's at this very moment.
