I have just bought a set of Givi quick release rails from another forum member. I am having some issues getting them to fit. Don’t get me wrong, each section fits nicely, it’s just when you try to connect the sections together that they appear to need some bending to get the QR fasteners to line up.
Now my Super Ten is a 2017 non-ES model that doesn’t have the passenger grab handles. No problem, I thought I would just use 2mm stainless steel washers to pack them out. Initially I used 4mm on each fixing point, each side fitted nicely, but when I tried to fit the cross brace under the rear mudguard, it appears to be 10mm too long and doesn’t line up at all. I ended up packing each mounting point by 8mm and still it is a struggle to get the QR fasteners to connect. I am thinking of going back to 4mm packing and cutting a 10mm section from the cross brace and having it welded up.
Any suggestions gents?
