I was looking for some added wind protection for my hands in the winter, but I didn't want something permanent as I enjoy the breeze in the summer.

What I found:

Install is super easy, they just use a rubber strap. They function AWESOME. I rode around all day in <20F temps with my heated grips and Lee Parks insulated gloves in total comfort on the hands. In fact, I only had the heated grips on 50%. In the past with just the stock guards I would have needed my heated gloves to go this cold.

Man, those bad boys are BIG! Any fear you'll go air-born at high speeds (like Dumbo)? :D Hey, whatever it takes to stay warm.

I have a Giant Loop Fandango tank bag on my KLR. Great bag - they make quality gear.

Mounted a set on the Tenere last night. Had to modify them because the straps were wider then the slots in the guards.

Won't be able to try them out until I get to Mesquite, NV next week. Will give a ride report when I get back.

Mine were like that too, but I didn't modify anything. Shove the strap through.

I have one similar to the link above, they are soft and will not break. Nor can you cut yourself on the edge, I believe they are called elephant ears. I take them off in the summer, basically deflect the wind, totally work.

I have a set of those also. they work ok.

the best set I have are called the kolpin pawtectors that are more of a sleeve type. sorry not to rob the thread of the original poster.

Rob away! I don't sell this stuff, just wanted to share one way to help keep hands warm/dry. I might keep these with me when I travel even in the Spring/summer in case of rain. They would do awesome to help keep dry too.

@ ac

you suck, just ordered a set.

Seriously, thanks for the post. Be a while before I get back out, but them will be just the shite for a Minnesota cold rainy spring.

Bought some of these yesterday. Hoping these and my heated grips will be enough for TN winters. I like that they go on and come off easy and my hands are not trapped. Good find AC I had no idea GL made them.

You should be fine for what you TN guys call "winter" as long as you have a decent set of gloves. I haven't reached for my heated gloves since I put these on. I wear Lee Parks Insulated gloves and use Oxford heated grips.

I put them on last night and they go on easy. Simple and rigid they should hold their shape. I'll give them a try soon

Something simple practical purposeful and cheap compared to most farkles.
