I have a 2016 ES S10 and before I got the ECU flashed I was getting around 46MPG. I now get an easy 53mpg.

I also have the full Arrow headers and a Yoshimura exhaust.

31/36L Zega Pro panniers, fuel cell and hydration jug on the top, CalSci Med screen with Yamaha wind wings, Rumbux system and some small LED lights in the wind I get 36-42 on average with mostly steady interstate riding. We have legal 80 mph here though, so lots of 70-80 mph. 85 mph and some headwind and I drop into the mid 20s pretty quickly. '12 with 103k on it. Freshened top end and new pistons/rings at 82k or so. Never have gotten as good of mpg since the repair work.

@BigBoy - Who did your flash and what did you ask for? Or was it on a dyno with the new exhaust?

I put on about 210 miles today and the dashed averaged about 50 MPG on 91 octane E10. I was cruising at 60MPH in 6th gear for 95% of those miles.

EricV the speed really takes a toll on mileage no matter the mount. I don't get to cruise at 80 much but my estimate is I'd be in the 30s with full bags, or less, pretty quick.

Ron Earp- certainly to a degree. The Super Ten just more variable than the inline 4 of my FJR. My '04 routinely saw higher sustained speeds and still averaged 42 mpg.

So the math at fill up would prolly be 47-48, not bad at all. I got a 45 by math today, clock was saying 47.8.

I have been getting 48-49mpg on my 2015. I usually don't hit reserve until around 225-230 miles. I've been putting 91 octane non-ethanol petrlol in the old boy.

One of the best things about this bike. Don't even have to think about gas until I hit 200 miles. ::015::

Just after I ran my bike in I took it over to Wales for the day with a fuel can on the back with the intention of running the tank dry just to see how accurate the guage was. Well I managed to get to wales & back with some to spare, I did a total off 285 miles before running dry, I cant remember the exact numbers on the computer but it was low 60s.

I normally show 57-59 mpg but did take it steady ( to the speed limits) at the weekend on an observed run around the peak district, at the end it was showing 63.5 mpg. I have checked the volume to fill agaonst miles & the guage consistenly seems to be over in the area of 57 - 63 mpg i.e. 63 =61 mpg

Punch a hole in the top of the filler and you'll get more range.

The gas cap assembly comes off easy enough, gives you a better and multiple angle. I used an awl, a tool meant to be struck with a hammer. I've read that an ice pick works. A word of warning, don't park the bike immediately after filling up the neck, she won't like it. Use the restroom before topping off the bike.

I used a little steel prick punch, pretty much as Don suggested. I did sharpen it before this.

If you do it without removing the filler assembly, make sure to put some wood or thick plastic across the tank in case the hammer slips.

Punching the hole(s) between 1 and 3 O'clock will help when filling up in the sidestand. Especially on a hot day. I punched three holes at 10, 12, 2.

I punched one hole at about 3:00 for side or centrestand filling on my first Tenere.

My current one I have 4 holes I think. Speed of filling is more important to me than the added litre or so....
