It seems that Garmin have created just the unit I've been waiting for the last couple of years:

You have a 550 that still works... impressive! That looks like a really nice unit. I’m kind of reluctant to give up my ancient 550 because I enjoy the XM radio quite a bit.

I have a 660 that still works well, but it is getting old...Looks nice not sure I am ready to plunk down $500 for it. My 590 still works well.
Yup. I've replaced the digitizer screen myself twice and had the buttons replaced / resealed by palm doctor, but it's still going strong. You have a 550 that still works... impressive!
Do this not play mp3s?I like my music onboard. 595 has it.

The XT have a build in MP3 player.Do this not play mp3s?
Will be interesting to actually see the new XT in person. Being WIFI capable sure sounds like a major improvement.
Hopefully the new screen is as nice as they claim, the screen on my 595 is crap but Garmin also claimed that screen was great. The 595 came with a motorcycle mount and a car mount but there doesn’t seem to be any mention of that for the new XT ?
It's not TPMS compatible. What I don't see is are the TPMS compatible. I really like that feature on my 590.
That may be a deal breaker...It's not TPMS compatible.
Not for me.That may be a deal breaker...
I missed CC on previous bikes even though I had never had it...How can you miss something you have never had? Its a convenience like anything else. One could argue a safety feature, personal pressure sensitivity not withstanding. I like knowing what my pressures are before I set out and how that changes as I ride. To each their own.
I can say with almost 100% certainty the mounts are not compatible. Would be nice if they were more universal. So will The new XT work with the old 595 mount ? Or is it the same old crap where every time they come out with a new Zumo it foolishly requires a completely new mounting system ?
