That looks like a really nice unit. I’m kind of reluctant to give up my ancient 550 because I enjoy the XM radio quite a bit.

You have a 550 that still works... impressive!

Will be interesting to actually see the new XT in person. Being WIFI capable sure sounds like a major improvement.
Hopefully the new screen is as nice as they claim, the screen on my 595 is crap but Garmin also claimed that screen was great. The 595 came with a motorcycle mount and a car mount but there doesn’t seem to be any mention of that for the new XT ?

Looks like the Auto mount does not come with it but is available as an accessory. I don't think the 590 screen is that bad but ymmv.

How can you miss something you have never had? Its a convenience like anything else. One could argue a safety feature, personal pressure sensitivity not withstanding. I like knowing what my pressures are before I set out and how that changes as I ride. To each their own.

I run a separate TPMS anyway so this unit, lacking it is not a deterrent to me. I don't like the stem mounted transducers anyway and I like having the TPMS separate from other systems. That way if I ride without the GPS or the GPS fails for some reason, it's not taking a safety related item with it.

I missed CC on previous bikes even though I had never had it...

So will The new XT work with the old 595 mount ? Or is it the same old crap where every time they come out with a new Zumo it foolishly requires a completely new mounting system ?

I can say with almost 100% certainty the mounts are not compatible. Would be nice if they were more universal.
