You did a good job of hiding it. Is it the zip tie on the left side? I use FastTrak in California.

If a rider will be traveling in your states... is it worth purchasing the EZ-Pass?

Did you see the FasTrack Flex? It has a switch on the back, one setting covers motorcycles. Makes the Carpool Lane free in most places it looks like.

In Maryland, the road sensors for the ICC toll road and a couple of other places are rectangular and don't completely cover the width of the lanes. Somebody somewhere may have somehow reportedly found that riding on the white line thru the detectors is between the loops and the EZPass won't get billed.

Very similar to our type. Due to construction variances, each booth has it's own "sweet spot". Sometimes it reads the plate, sometimes not. I personally think that bikes should have a reduced price; less than half the rubber on the road....

PA Turnpike gives a 25% discount to bikes with an EZ Pass.

If I'm reading the Fastrak website right, if you're using the new Flex pass switched to the third position; three or more people, electric, or MC, a lot of routes are free. ::012::

I'm assuming that EZ-Pass is for tolls? Around here only cars are required to mount the stickers with an RF "chip"; although all toll road users are issued the stickers with the "chips". For the most part, the chips are not used....plate readers take a picture of the back plate and assess the toll. Seems like a waste of money for the sticker/chips.
FWIW, DFW parking and the other parking lots that use the system rely on the chip. The toll roads are like you said and mostly plate readers.

I went for a long ride this summer out east. While my plan was to avoid toll roads, I have a couple times in the past hit them and it is a raging PITA on a bike. EZ Pass is good most placed east of the Mississippi and north of the Carolina's. So I decided to get a transponder.

I went with the licence plate mounted on as I did not think the inside the windshield ones could be out in the rain. I just zip-tied it to the cross bar for my crash bars under he headlight. Worked great. Reading the OP's post and others I guess I never considered theft. I did take a half cover and most often covered the bike if I would be away from it. Out of sight out of mind. When I hit my first toll bridge unexpectedly it was worth it. So worth it.

So questions for the toll brain trust as we have no toll's and I only know what I found out researching EZ Pass. Are the inside the windshield transponders OK out in the elements? The license plate one is kinda big and I would prefer to have it somewhere else than the cross bar. And to the OP? What is that dinky little transponder thing you have? Nothing I have ever seen would go under that cover where you have yours!

And for anyone considering this, I got mine through the state of Virginia. NO DEPOSIT! All I had to do was load the account and they sent the transponder.

Yes, the inside the windshield transponders are fine on the motorcycle. (generally much smaller than the license plate ones) They are sealed in most cases. Most people mount them on the back of the windscreen, down low where it's not in your line of sight. I use Dual-Lock, and several transponders come with strips of dual-lock for that purpose. I have in some cases drilled a couple of holes and run a zip tie thru and around the pass to prevent loss on off road rides or slow theft. I have multiple passes at the moment, an I=Pass which is all EZ-Pass locations from Illinois and also required no deposit, plus they charge no fees if you are not using it. I've had a static balance for years sometimes, then used it and zero issues. I also have a Pike Pass from OK that works in OK and for the TX pass sites like Dallas and North TX tollways.

If I was going to get an EZ Pass transponder now, I'd probably get a NC Quick Pass which is good in all EZ Pass states, and in FL and GA as well as NC. Might some day soon be good in TX and OK too.

I have a strip of velcro on the inside of my windshield for a regular EZPass. Worked fine till somebody stole the thing in Ohio at a motel I stayed at. I guess somebody was too dumb to realize it's tied to a license number and they can't get into my account to use theirs. I'd had it so long the battery was probably pretty well drained anyway, but still it was a nuisance. Declared it stolen on the website, Maryland sent me a replacement for $7, and it arrived 2 days later.

I plan to still use the same velcro but will be sure to take the transponder with me.

I'm happy to report that the spot hidden under the front cowl, right beneath the Yamaha logo below the windscreen, has been pinging perfectly.

For those wondering, I mounted it with 3M super strength molding tape #03615.

Any photos of the install?

Cool and thanks!

At the minimum I will send my license mount in and swap it for the smaller standard transponder. However I may trade up to the NC device which will get me a couple more states.

I m profoundly grateful that living west of the Mississippi we generally do not need to concern ourselves with this!
