Footpegs Scraping Solution Question.

I was wondering if anyone has a solution for my problem:

'Scraping footpegs, gear lever and rear brake pedal on corners.'

My 2014 ES has only a few months and I already placed an order for a new gear lever.

When Im riding on canyons I set my suspension to the heaviest preload adj. (Im 230 lbs - 105 kls) and to the HARD damping.

The only solution would be replacing the links (dog bones)?
It wouldnt affect the handling on corners?
Has anyone tried rising the bike, whats your feedback?

I might be trolling, or just a bit presumptuous, but I think rider position would play a big role:

The second element to this is getting a proper boot with toe sliders and using them for what they are there for: feeling the road clearance and not dragging pegs. good luck and be safe.

If you are scrapping the pegs that much, it's time to learn how to hang off your bike, maybe at a good track school.

Yep, The Tenere is a great bike but there is no ground clearance for spirited riding even while aggressivly hanging off. Watch the right foot peg, since there is no feeler bolt on the right side and the aluminum foot peg and rubber foot rest will be gone before you know it.

My bike is raised , different pegs, folding tip on the shiftier . I still fold up the pegs and still grind my boots ,so I lift my feet off the pegs .

I appreciate the time everyone took it to reply this post, for those more polite who started saying it could be a bit presumptuous and those who has no idea how I ride my bike and recomend me changing body position or/and a little track school, thank you. Done that!

Autoteach made a good point showing us that pic, even with a good body position you can still scrape the pegs! The S10 its not a R1.

When Im cornering and scraping the pegs I know by video from behind that I have a good few inches of tire making contact to the ground. If the pegs were higher I could lean the bike even more and still have a good contact patch to the ground.

Depending on how close the corner is and how fast you going, scraping the pegs it will happen in such a bike.

Again, the question is:
Changing the links would HELP with pegs height or just would raise the seat height?
Would change the bike handling?

I know I could call "RideOnAdv" and ask him this questions, but I rather get feedback from those who already replace the links.

Changing the links for raising will quicken turn in, but won't give you much extra clearance in terms of peg scraping. Yes, a little, but at those angles, not as much as you'd really notice.

Bottom line, Adventure Touring bike, not Sport bike. Take it to Alaska, Yukon, Prudhoe Bay, Goose Bay, etc. Want to flog the local canyon? Grab the GSXR 750 and go for it. Liter sport bikes on the street are for wheelie kings and poseurs.

And gently, remember that the street has unknowns, and stupid people, and just less skilled riders/drivers. When that tri-tone, (white, rust and brown), Caddy comes around the blind corner, half in your lane, do you have enough margin left to get out of the way?

The Super ten is what it is. It's not a hooligan bike. And politely, you shouldn't ride it that way. Sooner or later, your luck and/or time will run out.

I tried to fit a set of 25mm jack up links from a UK based ebay vendor. Sadly, the muppet had made them with the wrong size bolt hole, so they wouldn't fit. There was not enough 'meat' left to safely drill the holes out to the correct size either... As a more expensive solution how about having a slightly longer shock absorber fitted It won't be cheap however.

I've fitted jack up links on a lot of my adventure bikes over the years and have had no issues at all, no dangerous loss of stability (it actually stopped my v-Strom1000 weaving !), no 'flightyness' just shaper steering and more ground clearance. Let me know if you find a good set of links ::008::

Yea but it sure scares the crap out of the guy behind you with sparks coming off of titanium pegs grinding on the pavement .

Thank you 2112, I will do some research on adding a ticker spring on it, I guess i should lose some weight!
I too had a V-Strom 1000 with same problems, but I sold before droping some serious $$$ on it.

+ 35mm ! Eeeek, I think that may be too much. I'm wary of putting too much angle on the driveshaft and wearing out the UJ too quickly. The ADV + 25mm ones look good though.

If you're scraping your footpegs, brake pedal and gear lever that often, then I have to say you're riding way too fast. Better to have chicken threads than to be sorry.

I don't think we should criticize someone's riding style unless we have seen them ride. I do however, feel that sometimes we pick/ choose the wrong bike for our riding style.
To me the S10 is an ADV bike, not really a sport bike, so the designers never made it's ergonomics to race on a track or twisties at high speed with extreme lean angles. Just my .50 rappen (about 60 cents ::025::)
