Yep, good points. But creggur started this so I would like to make sure it is a date he can make. I would have said Sunday the 18th but I am signed up to run a 5K with the wife and daughter so I am in big trouble is I miss it. (I would be the old fat guy about a lap behind the old ladies LOL) So if Saturday the 17th works for him, I say we put a stake in the ground. If not, someone pick another date.
creggur???

I'm working Saturday the 17th - so I'd be locked down that day.

I could do it either day this weekend or the weekend of the 10th. Also open the weekends of the 24th and the 31st.

Sold to the man with the big blue. . . . . bike. :D
Next Saturday the 10th. (The wife just pointed out that the 11th is Mothers day.)
We can do the rout above unless anyone has a better plan. I am open to any ideas. And when we meet for breakfast, we can re-plan on the fly depending on what the group preference is.
Here is what we have so far:
Meet up 9:00 AM, Saturday 10 May at the Osteen Dinner. (Small town North and East of Sanford on 415 and the dinner is a regular stop for locals bikers) Get coffee and a light breakfast and make introductions. Then head across Maytown road, through Turnbull Hammock to Oak Hill. From there turn south and out to Cape Canaveral on Kennedy/Courtney parkway. Turn back east to Titusville and then North on US-1 to New Smyrna and then cross over to the beach. Turn south and go down to JB Fish camp for lunch.
So I am in for sure. Hope a lot of you can join us.
John

Sounds good - see you guys there!

Just looked at your route and see no problem there. Thanks for taking the time to work that out and post it up, Jaeger!

Added the Osteen Diner to my GPS favorites, here's the address:
195 Florida 415, Osteen, FL 32764

and their web site with a menu and a map:
http://www.osteendiner.com/

I live 25 miles below Sarasota so the ride from my home is 188 miles, mostly on RT 4, aargg! I plan to leave home on Friday and spend the night at a hotel in the Stanford are. If there's anyone here that would like to travel along with me speak up!

Sometimes I think I'd rather ride in the rain then ride during love bug season.... Gotta use the pressure washer to get'em off the bike, jeeeez!

Who's in charge of love bug extermination prior to our meet up? ::025::

Hate those little bastards, just make a mess of everything...bike, helmet, riding gear.

I'd definitely at her ride in the rain - actually I quite enjoy it...

Hey all gatherers I'd like to throw a wrench into the mix and let you all know there is a Rocket launch scheduled for 9:47am May 10th.

There are some great gravel roads you are allowed to ride on in the Space center and you would be getting a great view of a Falcon 9 launch (if it goes off of course).
I'd hate to reroute the entire gathering but i'm throwing this out there.
There is a great diner in Titusville called "The coffee Shoppe" also the best donuts in the state? at Kims Donuts. Or perhaps just an earlier start in Osteen ?
Again... im just throwing this out there but a group Super Tenere pic with a rocket going off in the background might be priceless ::022::
you can read about the launch at www.spaceflightnow.com Any inputs?

I'd rather stick with our original plan. Seems whenever I'm in that area during launch day the traffic situation is dreadful.

A launch day may be an opportunity for a future get together.

I don't expect to have the final word soooo what say the rest of you who are planning to attend?

Well personally I am completely flexible and will be happy with what the group decides. Seeing the launch may be a big a first time cool thing for some and if so I am OK with that. The picture would be cool also. :) My self, I have seen literally hundreds, so cool but not a big thrill for me. But I lean toward keeping to the original time based on the fact that some folks will have to leave really early as it is. That is why I picked 9:00 to meet at at Osteen. Any earlier and those further out would be starting their ride in the dark. Fine by me but many do not like riding in the dark if it can be avoided. Also any already planning to come that didn't happen to check back here for the latest might not get the word and show up in Osteen while we are in Titusville. ???
Good point about the traffic Blu! We may actually want to cut out the cape loop. Or do a different loop. I will look at options. But that we can talk about when we meet for breakfast. And Kenny knows the roads over there better than I do so he may have some good ideas.

Well this sucks on so many levels. A coworker passed away from a massive heart attack last night. We are a small company, and pretty tight group so everyone was in total shock today. The guy was 63 - never had a lick of health problems and no warnings or signs according to his wife. Hell, he was fine yesterday! Two years from retirement - just a great guy - such a sad, sad situation.

So, now I'm working Saturday to cover - I'd like to feel bad about missing the ride, but it's so inconsequential when I think about what his family is going through right now.

I hope to meet you guys some day, heck I've had the Tenere for two years and have yet to meet another Tenere owner in person.

Enjoy the ride, fellas, looks like you'll have great weather. Be careful, and I can't wait to see pics and stories from the gathering...
