Greetings!
Like the title states, this was a ride of Firsts for me. I have been in the market for an S-10 and noticed a prime example in Pennsylvania. I made contact with the owner and had a great feeling about the Moto, I decided to attempt the infamous, "Fly and Ride" that o always hear about. Keep in mind I have Never ridden an S-10 before but did do lots of research and decided it could be a nice upgrade to the awesome Vstrom I recently parted with.
My day started on June 25th at 5:30am when I traveled to the Punta Gorda, FL airport and flew out to Allentown, PA. I didn't want to worry about too much luggage so I checked my helmet in and wore my gear on the plane. I had some pretty odd looks from some people.
I arrived in PA around 11am and the S-10 owner met me at the airport to take me back to his home. The transaction went perfect and I can't thank Joe enough for being honest and his kindness to accommodate this ordeal. Around 1pm I had everything ready and I parted ways to begin my first adventure on the S-10.
My new (to me) S-10!
Minutes before departing!
I felt comfortable on the S-10 instantly and never regretted this decision once. I rode through the day and night and didn't have one hiccup. I would consistently refuel every 220 miles and take a stretch on each stop. All together I traveled just over 1300 miles, across eight states, and arrived back in South Florida at 11:30 am on June, 26th.
