I was just thinking about all of the bikes I have had since I started riding at 6 years old. Mostly dirt but then transitioned to street.
I think the S10 will be my 26th bike and I don't think I have been more excited for a new bike.

My previous favorites are my current Strom, just a great bike the way I have it set up.
KTM 950SM, a beast that should not be street legal.
1996 Fourtrax 250R, Full Duncan racing prep, shredded the dunes.
My first bike, Honda Q50. Still have scars on my thumbs from riding it so much I wouldn't let the blisters heal.

What are your favorite past rides?

I've only ever had dirt bikes until this year and purchased a KTM 530exc dual sport. My past fav would have been my 1983 Husky390 old school but power to spare. When available looking forward to the S10.

I was the most excited for my Honda ST1100's i rode around the country with. Mainly for the reliability and comfort. At the time, i didn't know how fun an adventure bike could be till i got the VSTROM. But now with the Super Tenere, HOLY CRAP I AM EXCITED MORE THAN EVER!!! The simple fact that i can have shaft drive, ABS, comfort and off road worthiness, YES COME ON MAY!!!!

MT-01 for it's sheer character and presence. Also the ST1300 (Pan European) really suited my riding style .... loved that thing. 8) D'ya know what ... I love 'em all. If money and space were no object I have pretty much anything and everything ;D

That good 'ole Honda QA50 is what started it all for me. I must have put a million miles on that scoot.

Boy that's a tough call. I really liked my VF500f Interceptor. But the FZ1 is a great ride too. Like Jeff I had a ST1100 and enjoyed it. I guess that I the ST1300 is better than the 11 to me at least. I too am anxiously awaiting the S10.

Yes, another Honda Q50!

Swagger, I would have loved to have a MT-01 but Yamaha denied me access to them. At least they didn't do that with the S10!

speed and swagger,

yes i love the bright colors. I don't like red or blue or black or silver....everyone has them.

the orange color comes from 2006 Lamborghini it is Arancio Atlas color slightly modified when we mixed the paint.

the yellow is from 1996 Acura Indy Yellow Pearl

Both colors were painted by myself and my good friend in his garage. I don't like the average run of the mill colors that everyone else has.

I am already thinking of ways to add the square blocks onto the Tenere in either the red that matches the front decal, or going with yellow to replicate old school yamaha in the block pattern sorta like Wasp has on his bike.

i am really leaning towards the old school blocks yamaha used on the off road bikes some. The same as in 2005 when Rossi's bike was yellow with black blocks for the 50th anniversary race at Laguna Seca.

That would look great. Will you just paint the stripes yellow leaving the blocks black from the original Raven paint?

If so, maybe the yellow stripes creating the pattern could be a vinyl mask to create the look. You could offer them up for sale to others not willing to paint but open to a new cool look.

too many bikes to name but faves were in no particular order
a 73 Triumph Trophy have flirted with buying another one, but then I remember the coffee can under the sump and tickling the carbs and ... and...
95 Honda Valkyrie - could pass just about everything - except a gas station. Even with auxiliary gas - I could only pass maybe 1 gas station
2001 Honda XR750R - great for blasting across the desert, but a humongous handful in the mountains - useless (at least for me) on tight single track
Current bike 2006 yamaha FJR - all around the best and favorite bike. Quick enough, comfortable enough, nimble enough and reliable enough to ride every day and to cross country at the drop of a glove. Change the oil... change the tires and fill it up with gas - sit there and twist that and you are good to go.

and of course the next one - the Super 10

Speedstar,

i was thinking of flipping the colors like on Rossi's bike. Instead of the black blocks I may go yellow, and use the black as the natural outline. Yes, I may use vinyl instead of painting, so it will be able to come off. Here is a ROUGH idea I have made on paint. (I don't have any fancy artwork programs on my computer)
