Is this manual for US spec bikes?

Thought I'd bump this thread as I searched and found this link very useful. The shop manuals are now listed for $35 ::008:: I paid for USPS Priority and had the manual within 3 days of order for a total of $41. I'm always a bit leery when something seems to good, but this came through.

It's the same part number that I bought from the dealer. It does seem different than the manual thats used in the service department but not sure to what extent (some things left out etc.?). Make sure the binding glue is strong, I sent two of them back when they fell apart within five minutes of use, the third one they got it right.

If no one else replies, I'll let you know in a week or so. The part number was the exact same as the Yamahapub link from the Yamaha Motor USA web site, so I went ahead and ordered it. O0

This is just my opinion,,, I read the verbiage and it did not sound right. Also the dealer cost on the manual is more than 35.00
I have the dealer shop manual so don't have the picture. The techs would rather use the digital version and sold me the tech manual for 50.00 I know this is the real deal. Also the add says, a factory spec type manual.

I would like to have the manual Yamaha sells and this one side by side.

A little pricey, but has paid for itself already. ::008::

I noticed that also which is why I asked. I'll bet the US Factory manual looks like the pic of the Canadian version only with a different part number.

The cover looks identical to the one I bought directly from Yamaha USA....me thinks the one listed is a copy, especially for the price and the verbiage "factory Spec type of service/workshop repair manuals". Could be wrong, but the manual from Yamaha (www.yamahapubs.com) is $93. So I find the price somewhat suspect.

THe manual might be a copy but it is good quality. I have bought manuals from him in the past and have had no problems. All the ones I've gotten have come with a plastic cover on them.

Is this the one for the service techs? Mine I bought directly from Yamaha has the cover with color ST pic on it. Bought it directly from the Yamaha USA site.

Your right. This is a service tech manual. Didn't realise it was different.

Guys, the sell.com manual looks, smells, and acts like a pirated copy. It may be high quality and be fine to use, but just because the guy slaps a Yamaha part nos. on the thing doesn't make it official.

Mark you might be right, and if so this puts me in sort of a moral dilemma as I usually don't support this sort of thing. I never used Napster or any other socially o.k. form of stealing either.....or as the kids call it "sharing" . Maybe I did this time :(

My copy has a picture on the front cover and appears similar in appearance to the last Yamaha factory manual I bought (TDM850) and the contents appear to be laid out the same. However the binding is totally different than most factory manuals I have in my collection and after reading the rest of this thread appears it could have been copied at a decent print shop. I thought maybe they were saving a few pennies on the paper version as the last couple of bikes I've owned I was forced to buy digital as paper wasn't even published. It is a USA version and has all of the CA canister info.

There is no way of knowing for sure, but if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, chances are it is a duck.. lol
The price is too low.
The wording on the site is just not right.

It may be a real COPY of the Yamaha manual, and it could have been done in China for the quality and price. But I don't believe it is the real deal..

Well, I would just like to know what proof besides a discounted price, wording and comments on the binding that someone has to claim, in a public arena, intellectual property theft, that's all. ::019::

Well, you can turn the sirens and light off. If I don't think it is correct, I have the right to say so. And if you would like to notify the vendor, that's fine with me. Let's see if he/she, can defend their product.

Cheers
