Ideally a lone riders only contact, is a gas pump.

With a bit of bad luck, it could be a mechanical breakdown which then needs a recovery truck and driver, or an accident, which requires the police, an ambulance, then the hospital.

IMO it’s quite selfish to risk this and then expose yourself, your family and all of those you could potentially come into contact with, and their families, just to ride your bike when asked not to.

Then of course the additional strain you place on an already stretched set of emergency services.

We’re all bikers all here and all know and understand the desire to ride our bikes.......... now isn’t the time though.

jeez everyone, ease up, I'm not even going to see my elderly parents or my young nieces or nephews, during the next few weeks because of it. I'm going to work everyday, my job is considered essential, i go to the grocery store, i get fuel in my car. i could get in an accident in my car or on my bike going to work, i could roll or break my ankle running and working out. i could fall down the steps in my house. as I'm watching tv restaurants with take out or delivery are selling food. me or a few buddies riding alone out in the country has less effect than me going to the grocery store. or even going to work. i get it,........so who's still in,

I can't make it because of work , enjoy the ride ... coming home this afternoon there was almost no traffic , kinda spooky . I do not have a stat update as of this time , probably tomorrow .... b-------65 , I have a non Tenere riding friend who lives in new braunfels , he might be interested in going with you.... what is the meet up time at buccees? and back to the all consuming virus from china. proper precaution taken and all should be fine..... did notice a lot of motorcycles up and down the road today.... less cars means more m/c.... and back to the virus , numbers I expect will double across the board (there are those who are getting well from this you just don't here about it ) there was a story about a 90 year old woman who had no underlying health issues that died , thinking 90 is its on health issue. as for Italy , we all grieve for any one who suffers from this , and Italy has had a lions share ..... we all take this serious but being calm will help panic just makes things worse. and for those who keep on keeping on, free people acting free , terrible . told the wife ,lets go to town Saturday night and buy a togo order and then in the parking lot of restaurant set up a folding table and chairs and enjoy our meal. probably set it up in truck bed . b---65 ride safe.

"They" (the official people) are telling people around here, to go for a walk. . . .just stay 6' away form everybody. But, "They" then tell you not to be out driving around. . . .maybe "They" can tell me what the difference is? There is a chance of an unforeseen contact/infection from both activities. More so from the walkers. (in my opinion) In a car, or on a bike, I think the likelihood of contamination has to be minimum. That being said. . . . STAY THE F**K HOME! Then there won't be any chance encounters.

so city of Austin still running buses , they are hiring people to be full time bus cleaners , not bad money . there is mixed messages going around . in hays county just south of Austin we have 11 cases , we are on shut down and we have a curfew from 11 pm till 4 am . why the curfew hardly anyone out at that time and if so what harm could they do. people will be out and about all day long . a politician who just has no idea what to do so we will add this. an excuse for police to make a stop is all it is. get outside , go for a ride , buy food from a restaraunt trying to hang on . use common sense . the most interesting thing is the state of Texas is putting travelers from New York New Jersey and Louisiana who come into Texas on 14 day quarantine under the threat of criminal prosecution of up to a 1000.00 fine and 180 days in jail for noncompliance . if we are all still alive in 30 days and my job assignment is complete then I would love to ride with you b-----65.

Did a pre-run on the Duece. a lot of folks out practicing social distancing. Even had a cop stop and talk while taking a picture at Gruene Hall, we both agreed it was weird to see Gurene this empty on a Saturday. that was about the county curfew (and Siera1 you know cops that will... most are as you describe and God bless them , but there are some who are not like that. ) our county sheriff told his officers not to make stops based on curfew but normal things like speeding and DWI etc. city police and what they will do I think is up in the air. dumb move on the county judges part.

You can think what you like about social distancing but when countries are still allowing flights from known Covid-19 hotspots it seems like a futile exercize

Unfortunately, you're probably right. But, I think peer pressure will stop most of the bad apples. The city my youngest works for has a "no traffic stop" order in effect. My other son's department has been too busy to make traffic stops.

Our sheriff and mayor instructed the cops to ask people to return home after curfew. No citations. I haven't heard of anybody getting pulled over here. My neighbor is a vet deputy. He said he ain't hassling nobody that's not acting stupid.
